Re: Dipyridamole

Thank you Holland and Legs for your willingness to push the envelope with this hopeful new approach. I am one who wrestles with accepting the limitations this damned condition has given me. But, I gain hope from articles in thr Nightwalker and hoped to find more about dipyridamole and wasn’t disappo...

Re: Medical Marijuana

Thanks Steve, sounds like there is an adjustment phase. So you are still taking methadone, also? Has the MM helped with the usual disconfort associated with urges to move?

Thanks

Re: Medical Marijuana

Holland, my dosing may not be the greatest of guides. My methadone dose is the smallest dose available, 5mg (unless I break them in half). I tried going up just a half of a pill to 7.5mg, but had to drop back due to side effects (feeling a bit loopy) and had to change the time of day in order to co...

Re: Medical Marijuana

Hi, I am considering a move west, and would like to settle near Carson City, NV. Can anyone share their resulting experience with the MM program in Nevada? The wording isn't as inclusive as CA. It appears that the state "Division" would have the right to decide if RLS is included. Can anyo...

Re: Gabapenton

Other than the slight sedation for several months when first starting gabapentin my experience was great. Other than a bayer asperin there are few meds that I have not experienced neg side-effects. Gabapentin was one that I took for a long time and was a godsend when dealing with a neck injury and a...

Re: Reducing opioid meds - seccation of symptoms?

Hi Rick, I think my doc and others believe it's best not to utilize any meds (cold turkey) when withdrawing from a dopamine agonist. Reasoning has something to do with how your body recognizes pain and setting a proper baseline. As far as using clonazepam in treatment of RLS my Dr. has mentioned tha...

Re: Kratom- avoiding addiction/intelligent use/other's experiences

It seems like it would be difficult to say an entire race is more or less prone to addictive behaviors, but maybe there's something to it.

Re: Kratom- avoiding addiction/intelligent use/other's experiences

Wondering how "racial" groups have anything to do with genetics, Steve (rustsmith). Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

Re: Newly Approved Device - available in US

KDecker1612, I have been using a massager similar to what you described. It is made by Brookstone and is a heated neck and shoulder massager that is cordless and can easily be used on most other areas, lower back, legs, etc. It is a little pricey, but worth every penny. I have fallen asleep with it ...

Beth, thank you for your succinct reply and reminding us that this is only temporary, that often flare-ups are exactly that - flare-ups.

Many thanks for the perspective.

Re: Reducing opioid meds - seccation of symptoms?

Hi Ann, Well, I wish I had journaled when I last stopped taking meds altogether. I think at some point my pain began to subside, instead of nightly severe symptoms it was every other night or so and more moderate. It's probably wishful thinking because I have to believe I can live without the increa...
