If you've had trouble getting an opioid prescription
The New York times has a great article today on the harm that has been done by shutting off opioids from needy patients. There is a comment section, and I wish those of you who have suffered because your opioids were withdrawn, or you couldn't get them while in augmentation, would post and describe ...

Hydrocortisone
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18443313/
This PubMed article says that low dose hydrocortisone helped with severe RLS. But I can't see from the article exactly how it was administered. The placebo used was apparently given by IV. Has anyone used hydrocortisone?

Re: Whacha readin?
I just read Unspeakable by Jessica Willis Fisher. You may remember the Fisher Clan, who performed wonderful musical routines, and who were on television as a family with 12 Children. Then, in 2016, it came out that the father, Toby Willis, had been both sexually and physically abusing his children f...

A wonderful—funny and moving—Netflix series called the Extraordinary Attorney Woo. It’s Korean but the English is dubbed in which isn’t too awkward. It is one of my all time favorite shows now. My granddaughter got me reading some Colleen Hoover books. Very busy plots—somewhat like Danielle Steel—bu...

Re: Published Research - General Sleep and RLS (WED)
This is all really interesting. Since I've had the iron infusions, my RLS is "moderate" I'd say. With kratom, I usually wake up two or three times in the night, get up, take a little kratom in orange juice, and then can usually go right back to bed. So I'm guessing that's a moderate disease. I don't...

Re: Frustrated with it all!
30 seems low for ferritin. I've had a couple of doctors here (Lehigh Valley north of Philadelphia) tell me that 100 is the lowest mine should be. And I've also found that a good level of ferritin and kratom controls my RLS quite well.

Re: For Anyone Who Thinks RLS is a Joke
I've had RLS for at least 30 years--probably much longer--but didn't have it diagnosed until about ten years ago. By then I was reading these boards, so when my doctor tried to put me on a DA, I never got the prescription filled. Instead, I searched all over the Internet and found kratom. I've been ...

I have a Hemp cream (Charlotte's Web) that I bought on Amazon for around thirty dollars. I rub it on my legs at night, and then pull a stretchy sock-like cover over the cream. It really helps me get to sleep.

Re: At my breaking point.
Hi Bobbert, I'm someone who is relatively happy with the way things are going with my RLS, which I've had for at least 40 years. It didn't get severe until about 11 years ago. At that time I went to a neurologist who did lots of tests (MRI, etc.) to see if the RLS could be secondary to another condi...

Re: Visit to the Neurologist
I did also have knee surgery but wasn't told to stop the kratom before that because, I think, they were going to just give me a local. And they did give me pain meds too, oxy. In fact, I still have some of the oxy they sent me home with. I save it for long plane rides. And since I've never taken it ...

My primary care doc also tried to get me to stop taking kratom. She wanted me to switch to Lyrica, and I did try it for awhile. I found it didn't help my RLS nearly as well as the kratom did, and it had many unpleasant side effects. I've taken kratom for 10 years, with good RLS control and very litt...

Re: Vacation Reprieve
Hi Rick,
Just a thought, but you might check your home for lead in your water, mold under rugs in the basement, etc. I don't know if any of these conditions kick up RLS, but it does seem odd that you are so much better away from your home. Good luck!

Article on Medical Gaslighting in the NYTimes
It's in today (Oct 11th) online NYTimes paper, but looks like it ran on July 29th. I'd put the link in, but unless you have a subscription you'll probably hit a firewall. At any event, these are the "red flags" that show you are being gaslighted. I read them and thought, omg, I bet everyone with RLS...

Re: New to group. Did I augment??
Hi Paul, I got permission from the owner (John Williams) to post the info about his business. The name of it is Velvet Soul and the email address is support@velvetsoulnaturals.com. I don't know how the pricing compares to other sellers, because once I found them I didn't use anyone else. The kratom ...

Re: New to group. Did I augment??
Hi Dr. Placebo, I really don't think you can augment on kratom. I've been taking it for so long. A few years ago I had to stop taking it for a week because I needed a colonoscopy. The anesthesiologist called me up a week before and said I needed to stop the kratom because she didn't know how it woul...
