Re: Prescription Refills

Best of luck, Ann. I am lucky that my pharmacy fills my script every month without fail. I forget to be grateful for that!!

Alpha Stim again

Hi guys! I searched the index and found a thread from 2007, updated in 2010, about Alpha Stim. My RLS doc brought it up to me today. The price is awfully steep (I haven't checked with insurance company yet) and my RLS runs all over my legs. I am not sure where I would put the probe because the twitc...

Re: Methadone Side Effects Question

Looking back, I think it took me a good couple weeks if not longer to work through and beyond the side effects of methadone (including nausea...that one almost did me in) but I was determined not to complain to my doc. I knew if I did, she would try something else. And there was nothing new left to ...

Re: Taking Methadone and sleeping too much

The iron infusion doc told me that since my ferritin was 24 last summer, insurance wouldn't pay for infusion. He rushed me out the door so fast, I didn't get the chance to ask how much it would cost out of pocket. Since ferritin is "stored iron" it made sense it could perhaps cause fatigue...

Re: Taking Methadone and sleeping too much

My RLS doc IS a sleep doc haha. I am just afraid to "rock the boat" on my meds because, after years and years of hell, I am finally in a great place. I only take 20mg lexapro (been on it for many years, originally for depression, then it was helping with hot flashes, now I don't think it d...

Taking Methadone and sleeping too much

Hi guys, I have been on 15mg methadone for the last two years plus. It handles my symptoms very well (85-90% I'd say). I take 10mg in the morning and 5mg in the late afternoon/evening. For the last month or so, I simply CANNOT sleep enough. I take naps, I sleep and sleep and sleep. This was the reas...

Re: Methadone complications - not medical

This is crazy!!! I am lucky, I have a great relationship with my local Giant Food store (with pharmacy inside). Wouldn't we be covered under Americans With Disabilities Act????? If RLS isn't a disability, then it should be! Why the heck a pharmacist can trump a doc is beyond me (unless, of course, t...

Re: Morphine pump & Deep Brain Stimulation questions

Thanks. What a great idea (once insurance co pays for surgery). That certainly eliminates ability for abuse...which seems to be biggest argument against prescribing opiates!

Re: Morphine pump & Deep Brain Stimulation questions

Ok, very ignorant question here. How does the morphine get in the pump? How frequently do you "refill" it? Can you get liquid morphine at the pharmacy? With the huge crackdown on opiates (and the dark future predicted by my doc for being able to continue on methadone) I am curious if this ...

Re: Morphine pump & Deep Brain Stimulation questions

I can't wait to hear about your experience!!! Congrats, how exciting Steve: have you considered Global Entry? It costs $100 for five years and puts you in TSA PreCheck for every flight. The procedure is quite painless...requires an on-site visit to airport for interview and fingerprinting, but then ...
