Re: Is it really that bad?

Hey there Polar Bear!!! We're on at the same time! Ummmm, well, I have the severe form of painful RLS, 24/7, and since I can break through my codeine occasionally, and I clearly recall nearly a year of RLS going untreated, I know what both are like. That would be a hard choice to make, RLS or pain. ...

Re: more pain , more tears.....

Moonlight, also could be since when you're using the computer it gets worse, might be it's the same thing as your living room chair! Hope you can make similar adjustments to your computer chair. And remember, if your RLS gets close to going out of control, take some of your opiate. GG

Re: Night rolling

RTHOM, I don't want to sing to the choir, but I'd like to make a couple suggestions. First, drink a half glass of milk before you go to bed, second is don't take your opiate just before bed, rather take it earlier in the evening, perhaps after dinner, and third is get a solid foam pillow that will h...

Re: Is it really that bad?

I found out something about pain and the way it works on the mind. In addition to RLS, I also had compression fractures of three vertebrae in my thoracic spine from a car wreck, it deformed my spine, to where it got into my lower spine, too. With any of the three, I feel pain, diff kinds, but it's a...

Re: question - any other opiate better?

Thanks Chipmunk. This will help me if my doc is willing to give me oxycodone, which is what my cancer doc gave me during treatments, and that was a great drug, no headaches, didn't feel too much tug on the needing it the way I do the hydrocodone, but anyhow, I can tell my doc now that other docs do ...

Re: Pain associated with RLS/WED

Hey RLS IDAHO! I have the painful 24/7 kind of RLS. However, I do not feel the pain above my knee. It is in my right calf. I have actually seen the muscle fibers wiggling all around in different directions in the calf, in one general spot. I take Tylenol Codeine #3 for my RLS, I take it four times a...

Re: LYRICA??

DOETY, hi, I've replied to you one time in this thread that I took Lyrica and gave you a quick run-down on what it might do for you or not. By the way, you had said after you read my post that you weren't going to be telling people what to take, I suppose in response to my saying if Lyrica helped yo...

Re: LYRICA??

Doety, you can try it, can't hurt. I take Lyrica for something else, but the ONLY thing that stops my RLS is opiates, and I've tried all other recommended drug categories. I take opiates for my RLS, and I take Lyrica for my backache, and Klonopin for my panic disorder. Klonopin is a benzodiazepine t...

Re: question - any other opiate better?

Thanks you all!!! RTHOM you may have something there, I was prescribed hydrocodone when I had bone pain from chemotherapy, and I didn't pay any attention to dose, just took as prescribed, but could be if I had slowly climbed into it, I wouldn't have had headaches. My pals, POLAR AND VIEWS!!! POLAR B...

question - any other opiate better?

Hello everyone! I usually post entirely in general topics, but have a medicine question, so thought I'd drop in. I need to know what would be a stronger medicine than the Tylenol-Codeine #3 4x daily that I get now, but that I can still get a six-month prescription for refills (rather than going back...

Re: stupid lapse !!

Ohhhhh, Polar Bear, it is sad sad sad to hear you went thru that! You know, not that long ago, I had to cut back on my Codeine stuff I take for RLS because I had taken some extras earlier in the month because of some other pain I had, and good grief, I went to bed and my legs were kicking and spasmi...

Re: Follow-up question regarding Requip discontinuance

The way I see it, you should ask your GP doc to please change the prescription to exactly what you ARE taking to get relief. I should think he would agree, and hopefully longer than just a month or two, rather permanently, or you'll eventually have to face slowly reducing what you're on. The reason ...

MIKE, We appreciate you taking the time to put down here what has helped you out. Plenty of people come on this forum, they don't know what in the world has happened to themselves, they're in that hellish place you were in, and they wanna know how to get outta there. I particularly like it that you ...
