Re: desiccated liver powder

Magnesium chloride can be purchased at m This version comes as a solution. A friend talked me into purchasing this. I have not tried it yet. It recommends using a glass or metal container if soaking your feet. There is a long video on their website you can watch to learn more about this. After I try...

Re: Hydrocodone vs. oxycodone

I have been taking 15 mg Vicodin daily at 8 pm for 9 years along with .25 of Mirapex to control retractable RLS. I wonder if it would be better to switch to oxycodone to avoid all of the acetominaphin in the Vicodin. Any advice? Or is a different opiate a better choice? Acetaminophen when taken lon...

Re: Is anyone having a successful 'drug free' experience?

I went on a keto diet and I was drug free for about 4 months. But then my symptoms returned. It sounds like you are already eating a keto dinner. I also have used several forms of massage to loosen up tight muscles. I am able to reduce the amount of medication I need because of this.

Started iron tablets last week, lets hope they don't be the straw that starts the constipation. I do drink a great deal of water.

Does your codeine come with or without acetaminiphen?

The problem is that we cannot tell if these are some progression or multiple issues occurring. Pain, numbness, and cramps are all things that occur with great frequency without RLS, too. Not saying it isn't, just as I don't think we can say it is.

I agree.

Re: Iron supplementation & Constipation

Steve, When you discussed your experience with methadone, I was surprised to see that you took it around noon. My experience with RLS meds is that they are typically taken about 1-3 hours before bedtime. I was thinking of discussing taking methadone with my pain specialist. Is taking methadone this ...

Re: Iron Patches

I have been using the iron patches for a couple of weeks. But I have not had yet had any tests to see what effects they have had on my ferritin in levels. The discussion above seems to be somewhat inconclusive on their efficacy. I would be very interested to know if anyone has taken them and had suc...

Re: Characteristics of PLMD/PLMs

My wife has told me that for years I would sometimes kick her so she had to put pillows between herself and I (I am grateful for such a patient woman). I also sometimes kick the wall. After augmentation I have had more movements in my hips and back. I remember a post by another member who described ...

Re: Nerve Tension

Ann, Having multiple disease processes as part of RLS is a real possibility. One other possible way of looking at this is that some of these symptoms occur with a greater progression of the disease. I have had RLS for almost 40 years. I have only had pain in the last 5 years or so. I have only exper...

But doesn't nerve tension also cause muscle tension? Also, could you explain nerve flossing?

Thanks

Re: What else should I be trying? I'm at a loss.

I would suggest a strategy of finding two meds and alternate between them. For example find an opioid that works and if Xanax worked for you, you could use that as your second med. Taking one or more drug holidays can help you reduce the dose you need to take. Also try to use other methods such as f...

Re: dipyridamole

Steve, The paper describing the use of dipyridamole used test subjects that had mild RLS. My experience and the experience of Rachel (legsbestill) is that for people with moderate and severe RLS that dipyridamole doesn’t replace the regular medicines that you used to control your symptoms. What it ...

Part of the time I was taking medications and part of the time I was taking a holiday of a couple of days.

Re: dipyridamole

.I am sorry to report that dipyridamole had little if any positive effects for me. I started taking 100mg. I experienced the side effects of feeling bad like I was getting sick. This subsided after a.few days and I increased.the dose to 125mg. I again experienced these side effects; but this time th...
