Restiffic and Relaxis Information
Restiffic (the foot wrap) is currently on sale for $299.95/pair according to their web site. I've tried massaging the muscles they claim are involved but my poor MeSsy/Dupytrens hands are too weak/painful for me to really see if it helps. Relaxis (the vibrating pad endorsed by Dr. Buchfuhrer on thei...

Re: Compression tights
I used to have two kittehs that seemed to have a special RLS sense. They'd come sit on my legs when my legs were driving me crazy. I have two other cats now. One won't get near the bed and the other only likes to sleep on my bladder. Cats. I agree about the tight stuff. Although, in the last week or...

Re: Specific doc at Mayo MN
Once again, you all have more answers than my doctors! Saw my primary care yesterday for a recheck on my blood pressure (had months of hypertensive crisis blood pressure and way-too-fast heart rate from nortriptyline, now resolved). He said he'd never treated someone with RLS as severe as mine and w...

Re: Specific doc at Mayo MN
Forgot to ask: depression sneaks up on me. If the gabapentin or pregabalin do increase the depression, is it obvious? I'm kind of teetering on the edge anyway although I started taking Vitamin D about few weeks ago and have noticed a BIG difference. My energy level has increased, too!

Re: Specific doc at Mayo MN
I did a little more research on pregabalin and think it's probably not the best medicine for me plus it's crazy expensive! Last night I took .125mg pramipexole at 6pm and another .125mg at 9p. With .5 mg clonazepam at 10:00p, I was asleep by about 10:45p. I woke up at 6:30 am, RLS free! Gonna repeat...

Re: Withdrawal from .125mg Pramipexole after ST use?
I have an appointment with my pcp's resident for tomorrow that's a follow up for the high blood pressure and fast heart rate caused by nortriptyline. I saw a cardiologist a month ago and my bp was back to normal and they had nothing else to say. I'm going to hijack the appointment to deal with the R...

Re: Specific doc at Mayo MN
Beth, thanks for the clarification on the double baggies. I'm going to get some celery juice and ferment some turnips! How's does the pregabalin work? My neurologist just prescribed it to replace the pramipexole. The dose seems high to me - 25 mg three times a day. I'm also very concerned about the ...

Re: Withdrawal from .125mg Pramipexole after ST use?
Grrr! Took .125mg pramipexole on 9/16 & last night (I know I said I wasn't going to take it anymore but then I read about people taking it for 2-3 nights, alternating with other things and I thought I'd try. Sometimes, I'm so stupid but I'm terribly sleep deprived and clearly my judgement is imp...

Re: Specific doc at Mayo MN
I'll see if my library has the Katz book. You've given me a great start - I'm going to see what the turnips do. I'm not sure I understood the double biggies part. Do you use those instead of a jar to ferment things in or for storage after?

Re: Withdrawal from .125mg Pramipexole after ST use?
Note to self: remember that RLS.org people are online in the middle of the night! I've been up all night. The pramipexole is definitely either not working or causing augmentation. I swapped emails with Dr. B, who is amazing! He answered all my questions very clearly. And he sent me info to share wit...

Re: Specific doc at Mayo MN
The Overcoming MS diet is the original Swank MS Diet modified by Jelinek. It's pretty much opposite of Wahl's - fish and veg, no land based animal meats, no saturated fat or dairy with Vitamin D and omega 3 supplementation. I was on the Swank diet for a couple of years after I was diagnosed but fell...

Re: Withdrawal from .125mg Pramipexole after ST use?
So, I'm being referred to a sleep medicine specialist and, in the meantime, my neurologist is recommending I increase the pramipexole to 0.375mg. ?????

Re: Withdrawal from .125mg Pramipexole after ST use?
Beth, would I have withdrawal after such a short time on the pramipexole? I'd say the symptoms were at about the same level as before I started the pramipexole - although maybe they were more present all day than before I started taking it. The oxycodone is really too low to be doing anything - I sa...

Re: Specific doc at Mayo MN
I think the one sensation cancelling the other out may be why massage, tickling, or compression work for some.
I have not tried fermented anything but I'm about to embark on the Overcomg MS Diet and I imagine there is room for fermented veg on that. I'll let you know. Thanks for the suggestion!
