Can't say I've ever heard of that being the cause. It's a problem in the brain with iron and dopamine uptake. It can also be brought on by many other diseases/conditions, however. If you've had it since you were a child, it is probably hereditary, though no one in your family may talk about it or th...

Be careful when you choose an AD - many worsen RLS tremendously as you have unfortunately found. Wellbutrin would be a good choice. Try www.rlshelp.org for more information on which ADs work better with RLS. It's on the RLS treatment page.

Yep, taking someone with is a good thing. Good luck with the appointment. Although Mirapex turned out to not be a good thing for me, it seems that it's a better choice - you take 1/3 of what you take of Requip. At the lower dose, there are less side effects. Also, it lasts longer. The key is that yo...

Xanax is a benzodiazepene. (Often called 'benzo's'.) This is a class of medicine used to treat RLS. In the New to RLS section, there are two sticky posts. A lot more information on how to treat RLS and the medicines to use can be found there. Benzos are highly addictive and for some people are hard ...

It doesn't work for me, either.

Now, this is interesting. Do the people who take DAs find having an orgasm works? And those that it doesn't work for don't have good luck with DAs? It works that way with you and me; I'd love to hear from some others.

Yeah, the itching and constipation have been constant for a year . . . If anyone else has constipation, I've found that white kidney bean extract works great. It was sold as a weight loss thing - take it and you don't absorb as many carbs and you lost wieght. My sister tried it and it didn't work, b...

Corrie, I am so sorry to hear that you are still struggling so much. To stick it out two more months sounds awful. This article is interesting. I want it to apply to me, but I have always had a lot of problems, even though I take good care of my teeth. I've had the problems long before I started tak...

Hi everyone, Linda, please check out the "sticky" post in the Pharma section; there is quite a bit about augmentation. If that is what you have, I bet you are feeling distraught. The info may help. Lwidmer and Linda, there are lots of meds for RLS - about 30 . The problem is that none work for every...

Jan, that is great news. It's been two years that you've been searching for someone to really help you. Finally, you found her. I wish it hadn't taken so long; I hope that everything goes well from here on out. Please keep us apprised. I imagine that this may be a little concerning to hear, though. ...

My favorite part of the post was that you are doing FAR better than during detox. Thank goodness. If it can handle at least the better part of the RLS, you can add a sleeping agent if needed, or a pain agent during the day.

I am happy for you.

Hi Brandy, There is a pretty complete list on www.rlshelp.org - it's on the RLS medications page toward the bottom. I'd check there to see what you find. Have you searched on any of those terms on this site? None of them ring any bells for me. My "fallback" is to search on the Internet using the dru...

That makes sense, given the name. I have no clue about it (which I should have said before), but I haven't heard of it being used. Well, I did a quick search on the two terms and found this post on Dr B's site: "But the pain management doctor I saw three days ago prescribed Skelaxin--a muscle relaxa...

What a great short version! And I still am excited to go back and read the long version when I get a chance - I want to read it all. In the meantime, this is wonderful. Thank you for doing all of this and sharing it with us. So many people here can use such a boost of possibilities. I'm sure many pe...
