Yes Betty, just a comment on flowers which I adore. On my 60 birthday, we had a house party. I had never before had a proper birthday party with a cake and balloons etc. Friends brought beautiful gifts which included flowers, ranging from gorgeous 'supermarket' roses, to florist' arrangements with u...

On a similar theme. We have an older friend, a widower, whom we met about 10 years ago, he lives 100 miles away and we see him a couple of times each year. This guy is so talented, very funny especially in the written word, retired senior police officer, he writes poetry, paints landscapes mainly, h...

At Christmas my little granddaughter (2 yrs) and I watched part of Mary Poppins... I so thoroughly enjoyed it.... seen through the eyes of a toddler. Just bought Jungle Book. I'm going to check out the Charity Shops for Mary Poppins, 101 Dalmations, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Charlie and the Chocolat...

Just watched Valkyrie tonight which was good.

Last night went to the movies to see Edge of Darkness, Mel Gibson and Ray Winstone. It had mixed reviews but we both fancied it and weren't disappointed. Love Ray Winstone in anything..... and the Mel Gibson character pulled at the emotions.

I eventually got about 3 hours sleep last night, tootled about till symptoms calmed a little, then went to the spare bedroom and with a little twitching and wriggling managed to read a few pages and fell asleep. Hard to do this with a sleep partner cos of a constant awareness of every movement we ma...

James, I reiterate all that Dogeyed and Betty have said. With regard to medications my own opinion is that I truely could not cope without them, and at times even with the meds I can have a horrendous night, last night being one of those times. And even when the meds have rls symptoms under control,...

OK it included being up for a couple of hours usually cos of insomnia not rls symptoms in particular, but it is a pattern of a sort. I have been getting some sleep over these last few...

Hi Julie, that will be very interesting, cos sometimes we have a bad day (as everyone does), then perhaps when there is little or no sleep it runs into another bad day, and then the nights kinda run into one another, how often was I up last night.... or was that the night before.....etc. etc. Someti...

Betty, It is so bad when it's 4 in the morning.....you haven't slept properly for days, everything seems black. For a night or two you sort of cope, and do a few things to pass the time, but after a few nights desperation starts to creep in. Now, you are worrying about your memory and the fact that ...

For a 'dip' on a buffet table I tried a tub of philadelphia soft cheese turned out onto a dish and covered with a bottle of mild chilli dip sauce and dressed with a few sprigs of rosemary from the garden. Served with crackers and carrot sticks/cucumber slices it went down really well. Also baby boil...

I always seem to have frozen leftovers that are more than one portion and not quite enough for two of bolognese sauce/shepherds pie etc. They seem to be in the freezer for ever. Saturday used to always be 'take-away' night, but since I finished full time work I tend to economise more. Omelettes are ...
