Update: After over a month of waiting, I finally saw the Neurologist at Duke University that my sleep specialist suggested I go to. I brought all the paper work, sleep logs, meds used and their effective/non-effectiveness, letters to my doctor, treatment history, the Mayo Algorithym, CT scan, MRI, a...

jocinda, I agree with ViewsAskew, as in I think it is coincidental. I also have RLS and PF. I have orthotics and have had all the cortisone I can take for this year, to no avail. I am unable to rest my feet, as I am a chef, and have to be on them up to 12 hours a day, 6 days a week. I found this sit...

Glad to hear you are getting some relief. I personally have resorted to the very last of my Permax. The specialist, my PCP, and the head Neuro of the main hospital here are all stumped, so they have me going to Duke University Neurology in the beginning of Nov.
Good luck with your treatment!

I would caution you with the Mirapex. I went the same route, and as the dose was upped, my insomnia got worse. I was upped to 1mg, which ended me up in the hospital. My body had enough, and the stress of not sleeping only a couple of hours for weeks took it's toll. If you feel like it is causing ins...

It's really quite hilarious. Here is the link to the video of the game: http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/allyourbase.html
And, yeah, I've known about it for years too, along with the Hampton Hampster Dance, and Smack the Monkey. (No, it wasn't anything dirty)

I agree!
But I would caution you that one of the side effects of Mirapex is insomnia, rofl.

I only have 20mg of Percocet per day, along with the Neurontin and 2mg Xanax at bedtime, and I'm grateful for that. I am having fun getting the Mirapex out of my system, and was rocking and rolling all night long last night. I have a stash of Permax that I am tempted to use, but that will only delay...

Suicide is not an option, sorry. Look at the stickies. The New to RLS has a lot of information about different topics, including lifestyle changes to help. The Mayo Clinic Algorithm is extremely helpful. Here is a link: m I too have what you describe, and it also just started 2 days ago. As of right...

Well, looks like I might not get relief any time soon. Right after I made that post above, my wife got up and told me I didn't look very well. I said I didn't feel well. I felt as though I had a stroke. I rushed off to the hospital, spent a long time there, CT scans, MRI, etc, etc. Seems that I toxe...

That is classic already, rofl. In a way it is a sports car, you just don't know where you are going with it, and what route it's going to take.
My best wishes to you.

tntshner, if you are augmenting on the Requip, I would bring the Mayo Algorithm for the treatment of RLS to your doctor. Augmenting is not a good thing, and could become permanent. The Algorithm states that after you augment on 2 DA's, that something else should be used. That's in the refractory RLS...

Echocarcardiogram is the test you are thinking about. I talked to my PCP about this, and for a couple of years, he dismissed it. When it was recalled, he finally agreed to send me to get one. I guess it came back ok, because neither the test center or my PCP contacted me with results. I finally call...

Great advice from all the replies you have recieved so far. I would also get the letters from the doctors that have quit treating you, and call them into court as witnesses. When you can show how incompetent they are about the syndrome, and you are able to prove that you know more about your conditi...
