Re: Coping with WED
I stopped sleeping in bed with my husband a few months ago. I do go in there periodically for a little while. We are on such opposite schedules. I'm asleep, he's awake, or he's asleep, and I'm awake. He is having sleep issues too. I was waking him up too much. Plus I am just more comfortable in my r...

Re: neuro appt.
You might find that after awhile you will get used to the neurontin and not be so sleepy. They should have started you slowly, maybe one a day, then two and finally three. If you ever go off of it you will need to do the same thing, wean off slowly. Right now I am weaning off of Neurontin. I'm at tw...

Re: Coping with WED
I think that you can't have one without the other. When I first started getting WED/PLMD it was all about the symptoms. Now that it's been 20 + years it slowly became how it was affecting my life. The thing is, it kind of snuck up on me. One day I'm coping, the next I'm struggling to cope, then my l...

Re: Sleep duration
Qxy, right now I'm getting about 8 hours. When my WED/PLMD is bad then I get as little as 2 to 4 hours. That's too little for me. I just can't function.
rthom, I didn't realize that you were getting so little sleep. I don't see how you can keep that up.

Re: I guess that I will give up !
Tonight will be my fifth night taking Mirapex again. I'm sleeping fine and not having any WED/PLMD. But last night I just didn't want to go to sleep. I stayed up til 2 am. I'd really like to go to bed about 10 or 11, so I can get up in the morning. It's almost like sometimes I'm afraid to try to go ...

Re: Take Drugs...and then what do you do?
I take Gabapentin with the Methadone and Mirapex. Some people can't take it and take Lyrica. I can't take Lyrica. Either one, Gabapentin/Lyrica, you have to start slowly and build up. You also have to go off slowly, can't just stop either one. I think Mirapex is the only one that I stop cold turkey....

Re: Something Awesome Happened Last Night!
I hope you finally went to sleep. I finally went over to the dark side. Last night was second night taking Mirapex. Have slept both nights. Haven't had any WED/PLMD either day or night. Oh well.
Again, I hope you went to sleep.
Again, I hope you went to sleep.

Re: Finally, no more pramipexole !!!!
I don't think that Doctor had a clue. When I was taking way too much Mirapex I had WED in my arms and I was augmenting. That stopped once I got off if it I was in the same situation, with way too many drugs in me. Didn't the neurologist check you out regarding your arms, etc. ? Maybe a good sleep do...

Besides you will loose your health insurance if you quit and only have COBRA which is expensive. I'd try to take a leave.

Re: I guess that I will give up !
doety If you don't take any Mirapex you will have WED symptoms. If you continue without it, the withdrawal can be anywhere from one week to a month or so. It's usually 2 weeks for me. I've been on it since 1996. The augmentation won't stop until after the withdrawal period. Do you have PLMD too ? Fr...

Re: I guess that I will give up !
I took Mirapex 0.125 mg last night. Basically slept all night, with bathroom breaks. I did make breakfast around 9:30, but then slept more until 2 pm in the afternoon. I took it about 10 pm last night. I think I will take it at 9 pm tonight. That was the time that I used to take it. I did have sympt...

Re: Furious....and scared
I have not accepted the extra weight. This is not me. I have begun a another effort to loose weight. I also started water aerobics in Jan. It is working out great. Since I am hardly walking and using a cane, it's the only thing I can do for now. I go every Mon. Wed. Fri. for 45 min. It's harder for ...

Re: I guess that I will give up !
I hope you have time to go through the withdrawal before your trip. Then go back on it after a couple of months, before your trip, so you'll be able to sleep. This is all a nightmare. Maybe dead walking.

Not sure what homeopathis stuff you mean, but I have done several things. TENS unit, massage, heat, cold, support stockings (like for surgery), pacing. It seems like I've done everything. I halucinate with muscle relaxants. Opiods - darvocet, oxycodone, percocet, loratab, vicodin, morphine, duragesi...
