RE: RLS and headches
"I was wondering if anyone else had an association between the periods they have RLS symtoms and periods of frequent headaches." Yes, sort of. Years before I acquired RLS, I began experiencing tension headaches and insomnia during periods of certain atmospheric conditions. Hazy low cloud cover and ...

Numbness in legs
Are you under a doctor's care? I think a friend of mine who had back problems and had numbness sitting was told that that was a "nerve" thing (can't recall if they said "pinched" or what). Sara, There are several things, I think, that can cause the numbness. However, in most cases it is a herniated...

No trivial matter
My hubby thinks I am silly Kelbel, Someone else will have to help you with the neurontin. I've never taken it. My carbidopa/levidopa has been 10/100 and I've never experienced any side effects of which I am aware. Perhaps your husband is correct about you being silly , but no one in this group cons...

Early Morning Workouts
I remain very active and workout 5 times a week. Doing my workouts at 5am is best for me as I am usually up at 0330 am. Brady, Maybe you need to reschedule your workouts. As I mentioned in response to another of your posts, I have a spinal cord injury that bestowed me with years of aggravating pain...

RE: RLS and back injury
Brady, Because I received clinical pain therapy years ago for a spinal injury I have an empirical understanding of the closed feedback loop of pain elevation. In short, people experiencing pain are often their own worst enemies for exacerbating the pain. My RLS seems to worsen whenever I have allowe...

Shortcut,
Speaking for myself, I've been diagnosed with RLS, but not with hypertension or congestive heart failure. At least not yet, anyway. Since many people acquire this syndrome at young ages, I'd have to say the answer to your question is 'No'.

"GUEST" .... I love it when people drag out the soapbox in here, take a few pot shots at us all and then cowardly hide behind "GUEST" or "ANONYMOUS". Sardsy, In the world of Usenet the type of post offered by "Guest" is called a troll. Not the furry little gremlin 'troll' but rather drag your line ...

I originally posted this note in the General Topics area but I received almost no response so I'm trying again in a different area. I am mystified by the lack of response because if I heard about a cure for RLS I know I would be VERY interested I, too was surprised by a lack of response. I can only...

Sara, I don't consider myself macho, but I like to believe I'm manly enough. That being said, I'd wear a pink tutu and ballet slippers to bed if it meant negating the symptoms of RLS. Actually, I did experiment a bit with weight on my legs. I noticed that whenever I was in the recliner with the foot...

Could you try to write a brief summary to expand on what you hinted about? I received biofeedback therapy, exercise therapy and a regimen of taught and practiced relaxation technique. I doubt that I could adequately express to another how to assume the learned skills. It really has to be adapted to...
