He renewed my prescription for Klonopin (actually, it's generic, clonozepam), so he must be happy about it. I also talked to a friend of mine that's in my chorus, who is a pharmacist and she said that was a common combination to use in the nursing home she visits. She's a traveling pharmacist and go...

Maybe all we be cured by then. Although, I don't have much time, I'm almost 74. BUT! all my folks lived to be 86 or 87. However... my brother is already in a nursing home. But he's not quite all there.

I've had it on both sides. Sometimes it's my right, sometimes it's my left. My left leg has had all the surgery (2 hip replacements, a knee replacement, foot surgery, you name it) but it's not usually that one that gets the RLS. I dunno, it's a mystery. Sometimes it's my arms! As long as I have my m...

Hi Danielle, I had exactly the same problem as you when I first started Requip and it was the sample package, too. I started with .25 mg for 5 days, went to .5 mg for another 5 days, then started the 1 mg. Holy heck! It was awful, so I quit and called it an evil pill. After a while I HAD to do somet...

At least, once the RLs stop, I do sleep through the night. Although, I was getting awfully tired of watching all my evening shows while standing and pacing. I went to a play the other night and was in agony. This was before I tried the combination Requip/Klonopin remedy. Maybe I've found a solution ...

Well, I suspected as much because it helped when I stopped it. Then when I thought maybe it wasn't Paxil, I tried another dose and hoo! I could hardly sleep all night! No more Paxil! Doc says it's okay.

Thanks Tunes, for your insight. I think that's exactly what I've been doing. I know my doctor is not worried and he knows me very well (I got a good one!) The Klonopin I'm taking is 2mg. I'm known for being drug resistant. It takes a lot to knock me out. I once woke up in the middle of a hip replace...

Hi tunesmith, I, too had had RLS for years and years. My whole family has had it and we even called it that name. Now, my kids have it and it's beginning to show up in my grandchildren. I had been taking Vicodin along with my Requip and that helped some. I was nervous about taking it because I didn'...

Has anyone had any trouble with Paxil interfering with Requip? I was on it after my husband died but it's been four years and I didn't think I needed it anymore so stopped it (with doc's approval). It was better, but not entirely better. I seem to be getting "used" to the Requip. I am up to 2 mg now...

Hi Charlene, Yes, I am taking meds for RLS, apparently ALL the ones that everyone is taking. I didn't know that some of them would work on RLS. I take Vicodin for recent hip surgery and I thought that was helping. I also take Quinine Sulfate for legs cramps and that helps, too. Fortunately, I have a...

Men vs women with RLS

I've had RLS most of my life I'm 72. My mother had it, I don't think my brother did. I have 3 sons and a daughter. All of them have it. The mere discussion of it during family gatherings makes it start with a couple of my boys.

Managing RLS

I'm new to this group. I feel like I've found relatives. I'm 72 and I've had RLS most of my life. My mother had it and all four of my kids have it. It seems to be worse lately, but I am taking Paxil. Perhaps I should talk to my doc about that. I'm taking Requip which is okay. It works best when I ta...
