Sami, that's an interesting question. I also have some odd episodic jerks since I started on the dopamine agonists. The jerks did reduce quite a bit when I stopped taking the DAs but I still have a few now and then, but nothing like a tic. Both of these are movement disorders and both are is the sam...

This is such a hard thing. When I did it, I was just as honest as I could be. I explained how many years I'd suffered, how many things I had tried. I asked him straight out if he would be willing to partner with me in treatment: I'm willing to listen and work with him if he will do the same. I also ...

Re: restlesslegscure.com and similar sites

I haven't read this book, but I want to mention the following sites by the same authors, Jeffrey and Marie Goodwin, of Turning Point Publications, to help people decide for themselves on the likely motivations and expertise behind www.restlesslegscure.com . I found these by Googling. Robin, it soun...

Yeah, that will probably be the time you fall apart - when it's all over and done. If you think that will help clear the emotions and make you feel better, do it. Sometimes a good cry can help so much. On the other hand, sometimes it just perpetuates my misery. If you don't think you'd be avoiding i...

Hi Lynnie! I just love it when I hear someone read all of the posts! Probably because so did I when I joined. It is awesome info, isn't it? We had some very helpful and concientious people here. Many of us find that a willing-to-learn GP is better than an I-know-it-all specialist. I don't know how l...

yeah, Robin, I'm familiar with the book. The same woman sells the same book to deal with three different medical conditions. It's pretty much a scam as far as I can tell. She used to sell this e-book for $10 BTW. Last year or the year before it was up to $19.95. It could be that salt will help your ...

Hi Jenny, I'm hoping I can explain a little about the criteria. The RLS criteria was written by an International committe of RLS professionals. They are the ones that wrote this criteria, not someone at the Aussie site. The Aussie site only used that criteria. According to the criteria, a person has...

That's really easy and really hard. You have the courage (the easy). You need to believe in yourself (the hard). Just like the lion. Think of all the times you've stood up for someone here and suggested that they do something, get different help, etc. You have the courage to help others and offer su...

There is an article written by one of the most respected CD experts that says the heaviest person he ever diagnosed with CD was over 400 pounds (if I am remembering it correctly - I read it several years ago). It takes many years to damage the villi to the point that you absorb NO nutrients at all. ...

It really sounds like you are having a truly awful time. I don't think you're weird at all. The range they give is wide and probably isn't exactly the same for all of us. Sara said that this didn't work for her at all, so maybe this isn't as much of an issue for some people. I also think that this i...

My pleasure. For those of you who decide to follow-up with this, please make sure you get the right tests. Celiac is a lot like RLS - few doctors have ANY clue, though people in Europe should fare better. I recently read a post on a CD forum that a gastoenterologist told a patient that his mother ha...

I was just reading through my notes from the Orlando RLS conference. I came across a statement that said RLS often moves into other body parts during augmentation. Now, I realize I see augmentation everywhere . But, I know that was the case with me. Mine left my arms when I got off of the offending ...

Yes, Corrie. Good memory. The docs at the conference said that they used to think we didn't have enough dopamine. They now believe (not sure if that is "know") that we have our dopamine at the wrong times. This explains why many of us have no trouble going to sleep somewhere between 2-5 AM and sleep...
