Resisting Sinemet
I picked up my prescription yesterday for a low dose of Sinemet and for some reason last night I was resisting taking it! Instead, I suffered through another night of little sleep. I've read about the possible side effects and they worry me a bit, but I think it's more about taking a 'serious' medic...

Hey Tired, After several years of using Lorazepam as needed for RLS it stopped working as a sleep aid. I was just prescribed Temezapam last week and tried it once. I was very drugged with 15mg, but still woke up in the middle of the night with RLS symptoms and had to do some leg exercises in a drug ...

Muscles involved
Hamstrings, calves, gluteals and biceps when my arms are involved (infrequently), almost always both sides at once. Not much in my quads.

"To what do you attribute sleeping through the night?" If I knew the answer to that one, I'd be planning my early retirement! No idea, just one of those gifts, I guess. I used to think my body could only function without decent sleep for a max of about 5 nights, and the exhaustion would outweigh the...

I slept thru the night!
It's been almost five weeks since I last slept thru the night, and I've been running on fumes, extremely impatient, short-tempered, easily frustrated and crying at the drop of a hat. Can you say sleep deprivation? I woke this morning from my first full night of sleep in weeks, and I can't tell you h...

Weight Lifting & RLS
I've talked to several RLS sufferers who've equated increased aerobic activity with increased RLS symptoms. Personally, I have not found that cause & effect (I cycle and work out regularly and at high intensity). But I'm wondering about weight lifting. I've recently increased my lifting workouts...

Thank you both for the welcome, as you know it's good to talk with folks who understand. JumpyOwl, I found your comment about ruling out sleep apnea interesting. I have been preparing to argue with my doc that I don't need to get tested for sleep disorders as I already know I have RLS, and don't wan...

New to the Board
I'm a 43 yr old woman, had RLS as long as I can remember, was officially diagnosed about 10 years ago, and need some frickin' sleep! Over the years it's come and gone, but the last couple years have been bad and getting worse. I've had a period of about 4 weeks with no more than 2-3 hours of sleep a...
