Re: Medical Marijuana in non-recreational US states
I live in a state with medical marijuana but not recreational. My neurologist, who is one of the doctors in the state who can prescribe marijuana, refused to prescribe it for me because he said RLS was not a covered condition. Luckily (?) I also have arthritis, so I went to an online prescribing ser...

Re: Experience of having IV iron
Hi Legsbestill, Thanks for the nice note. So glad kratom has been helping you. It is still my major med after 8 years, although now I have added a little marijuana (a couple of the edible candies every 24 hours) and a very small ropinarole). They have allowed me to cut down on the kratom. I do use k...

Experience of having IV iron
I had my first IV iron infusion yesterday. I decided to post about it in case anyone out there was as scared as I was. I had read online that the infusion would last 3-4 hours. I would have an IV inserted, and then 3-4 later I would be finished. So I was very nervous. Six months earlier I had a colo...

Re: Don't do this when a car passenger
When I’m in a car (driving or riding) and RLS kicks in, there is nothing for it but I need to find a safe place to stop, take some kratom, and then get out and walk around for 5 to 10 minutes. That usually takes care of it.

Re: Need advice
Holland and Betty, thank you both very much--such good info. and suggestions. I'm going to follow them all! I think I'll try it with just the kratom/pot while I get the infusions, and then see how things are. And meanwhile I'll ask my primary care to prescribe me a much lower dose ropinirole. Kratom...

Need advice
I've been using kratom for the last 8 years to manage the RLS symptoms. It's worked very well, and still works. I just need more of it now, and a good night is one where I'm only up twice for another dose. An average night has me up 3 or 4 times, and, of course, a lousy night has me up even more, al...

Re: New Kratom User - when to take
I've taken kratom for almost seven years, for RLS. It's really all I've taken. And it has worked very well until about a year ago when I started developing issues with tolerance. When I first started taking it, 1/2 tsp. was plenty, and it stayed enough for a couple of years. Now I'm up to 2 tsp. for...

Re: Excellent article on opioids
I'm afraid you'll have trouble getting it sent to the UK. You might have to have it sent to a friend in France or Spain or Portugal. It is also illegal in Ireland. But it's been wonderful for me, and I've used it for almost six years. Good luck to you.

Actually, I think many of the people in the suit were cut off. Sorry that I didn't describe it accurately.

If you have been denied opioid treatment
If you have been denied treatment with opioids, you should check out this link which is a description of a class action suit brought against the government for putting out the regs. that have made opioids unattainable for many suffering people. I think 16 states have joined so far. https://sickofsuf...

Excellent article on opioids
The New England Journal of Medicine and the CDC have put out articles admitting that the "one size fits all" for prescribing opioids has done immeasurable harm. And the comments after the article have many examples. None for RLS yet. Perhaps someone who has their opioids that were working well disco...

Re: Gabapentin withdraw symptoms
Gabapentin didn't work for me, but I did have significant withdrawal symptoms when I gave up on it. Finally I had to taper really slowly--cutting the pills in half, and then in fourths. I may even have had to go to eighths. Can't remember.

Re: Hyland's Restful Legs
Before my RLS got so bad, I used to use this. It usually helped some. Now that the RLS has gotten much worse it doesn't usually work well at all.
