Dr B is Dr Buchfuhrer who answers emails on the rlshelp.org site. He is an rls expert at the Mayo Clinic and a co-author of the Mayo Clinic RLS Algorithm. If you go to rlshelp.org there is lots of info, hundreds of letters to which he has responded, and if you email him he will respond to you. Good ...

I use domperidon for nausea which I understand doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier, but I don't think it is available in the US. Haven't time to check, but I think I did see on Dr B's site that it is available from Canada with a docs prescription, which probably isn't soon enough for you anyway. S...

I don't keep it a secret. Just couldn't do it cos the symptoms of my 24/7 rls have me going 'walkabout' so much. The alternative to going walkabout would be me squirming/wriggling/jiggling and perhaps behaving as tho I had some sort of psychiatric condition (my own thoughts). When I am working (offi...

What disgraceful behaviour by a doctor !! And what a horrible position to put you into from a medical and (lack of) treatment situation. If you are going to look for another doctor anyway, do you have anything to lose in the meantime by going back to this doctor taking with you a copy of the Mayo Al...

Hi Susan, I know nothing about gout (or whatever is making your toe so sore) but hope that you find some relief for the inflammation.

Sometimes we get a wee spell when it just feels as tho the wheels are falling off the wagon!!

Hmmm... on reflection the Mayo Clinic Algorithm probably doesn't need to be attached. Just the RLS Surgery leaflet.

Medical Alert Card

I took a little time and saved the Medical Alert Card on the rlshelp.org site as a word document. I adjusted the Medication Record to suit me. Under the heading of 'Medical Allergy/Sensitivity' I refered to the listed medications and added 'Do not administer these medications. Extreme discomfort is ...

Hi Heatherb I'm sorry you had such a hard time all those years ago and I certainly do not wish to make little of it. The only thing I can offer is from my point of view as a mum who very many years ago brought up a child in extremely difficult circumstances. I absolutely and without doubt did the be...

Hi Dale, I know that another condition is not news that you wanted to hear, but I trust you feel the visit was positive in that you have a diagnosis and the hope that the iron infusion will be of benefit.
