Where does pins and needles end and RLS begin?

Please share your experiences, successes, and failures in using non-drug therapies for RLS/WED (methods of relief that don't involve swallowing or injecting anything), including compression, heat, light, stretches, acupuncture, etc. Also under this heading, medical interventions that don't involve the administration of a medicine to the body (eg. varicose-vein operations, deep-brain stimulation). some people describe rls as a 'pins and needles' pain, everyones pain/discomfort is different!. then again pins and needles can be a sign of somehting else... ie disc problem etc.... otherwise i can only say that you need to see if you have the 4 criteria and if you do then you probably have rls...

quote-
Restless Legs Syndrome is an overwhelming urge to move the legs usually caused by uncomfortable or unpleasant sensations in the legs. The sensations have the following features:

Occur during periods of inactivity
Become more sensitive in the evening and at night
Are relieved by movement of the limb
Often cause difficulty staying or falling asleep, which leads to feelings of daytime tiredness or fatigue
May cause involuntary jerking of the limbs during sleep and sometimes during wakefulness

a big welcome ... :)
