going off medication ,. need advice

Please share your experiences, successes, and failures in using non-drug therapies for RLS/WED (methods of relief that don't involve swallowing or injecting anything), including compression, heat, light, stretches, acupuncture, etc. Also under this heading, medical interventions that don't involve the administration of a medicine to the body (eg. varicose-vein operations, deep-brain stimulation). going off medication ,. need advice

Post by vinton »

This is the rist time that I visit this section.

About 6 weeks ago my neuro put me on mirapex at 0.25 mg asnd the moos swings got so bad so I quit. After 36 hours without sleep I went to hte hopital and my GP put me on 0.25 levadopa(sinement in the US I Think).

Still dont like this stuff as many posts were mentionning a rebound effect.

OK! here's my story:

I'Ve had MS for 35 years and 20 years ago they put me on 2.5 mgs of klonopin and in 222 I decided to get off and the RLS appeared last April when I hit the 0.75 mark I'M now at 0.5 and the RTLS is getting worse.
I also tyake effexor 105 mg for depression caused my frontal and temporal lobe plaques.

At this time I want to get the natural way. I read a post about QC10 being effective and would like t get your opiion or directions to get help because I cant live without sleep.

Forgot! I have my own gym and do wieght lifting and treadmill every day.

Thanks soo much

Vinton, with all of the natural/herbal/non-pharm options you are sort of on your own. Most people who post these make one post and then they don't come back. We don't know how much they take, when they take them, how long it works, etc. We also don't know if they are safe.

My best advice is to search through the actual posts. If you want to know about CoQ10, for example, perform a search on that, then read all the posts that come up. There many not be any doses given - there may. What worked for them, may not work for you, either.

Hope you find a solution in this section. Let us know what works and what doesn't work. That's the only way we get information.
