Anything on your mind that isn't about RLS? It's nice to realize that there is life beyond this disease and have an opportunity to get to know our online family in a different context.

I looked at your album earlier before I saw this post. Nice work! We have several artists aboard. Neph doesn't post much these days - his RLS is under control - he carves jade. becat does very cool Christmas trees specialized for her clients. Jan does guilts. I'm a photographer and stained glass artist. I'm sure we have more that I've either forgotten or who haven't shared with everyone.

i play a little bit with pc graphic i have photo shop but not really a clue what to do with it so i just muttle along clickin here clickin there and i see what happens ,
i do alot of poetry too

here's one fer ya
called
SWIMMING
been thinkin about realitionship ,
about people
about missed opprotunities,
about living your life & gettin to the end
and not wanting to say
i wish , i wish , i wish ,
i would of done that
i would of done this ,
and dreams and desires float on by
and you never look your true potentile in the eye
and ya settle and ya trudge along
singing the same old boring song ,
wondering when your ship will come in
,as the days and the months and the years do you in ,
how often we have a hold of something we want ,
and we let go of it for FEAR OF WHAT ???
LIVING UR LIFE FEELING TRAPPED BETWEEN WALLS
AND U LISTEN AND HEAR AS UR HAPPINESS CALLS ,
and it drifts and drifts further and further into this emptiness
till ur sweet sounds of happiness arent any more happy ,
the echo becomes a hollow sad tear
a memory that cause ur heart fear ,
and again u wish and wonder what might of been
had u jumped in the water
and went for that swim

may i? I've actually had this one published.

VETERANS

To me, means freedom
To me, means peace
To me, means bravery beyond comprehension

Sacrifices given without any complaints
Going to places that are strange and terrifying
Putting their lives on hold to protect Democracy

Coming home to indifference
Never knowing those that appreciate every second given
Never knowing those who teach their children to respect the Armed Forces
Showing children the importance of being thankful for the freedoms given

The freedom you have given me is exactly that, a gift.
You don’t know who I am, yet, you selflessly gave me the greatest gift of all
The freedom to be me, the freedom for my child to be anything she wants
The freedom to get an education. The freedom just to live.

From my heart, I thank you all.
The words are minimal compared to what you have given
I only hope that they are enough

Poetry & Photography

Post by janetw »

I do some photography and write poetry. Some of my poems are here:http://p211.ezboard.com/fthecriticalpoetsmessageboarfrm118. I also moderate on a couple of different boards. Poetic Haven (this link)
http://p200.ezboard.com/bpoetichaven has two ezines that we publish. I am one of the editors for both DaNaHo Muse and

I also have several poems that have been published at http://www.photoaspects.com/woaw/zine/janetwilson.html, The Words of a Woman Net Society - Lingerings, and Amaze-Cinquain at http://www.amaze-cinquain.com/

I've won prizes at my local (and very small) County Fair. In 2001 I won 1st prize in Poetry, 2nd in Flowers, 3rd in Sunset and my 1st in Flowers was also awarded Best of Show. Not bad for an ametuer!

These two poems are still in the revision stage, as I just wrote them last night:

Envisaged Longings

Heartfelt words convey pain,
yearning for what is no longer
able to be felt - in all ways.
Inspiration and passion visualized
from the infinite core
of long forgotten passways.

Does the Moon Ever Sigh?

Conjured fears diminish while
encased demons shrivel and die.
Darkness cloaked thoughts
shroud dim sighted nightdreams.

Obscure menacing shadows
are washed in delicate opalescence
by the first light of dawn,
and waft away, blown by the
breath of the ocean.

It's nice to see what others do in the spare time between gritting our teeth and trying to sleep so we can live.

Well I was never artistically inclined but your drawings and your poetry are great. I do feral cat rescue and keep the ones that I have trapped, fixed and tamed down. I love animals and this calms me in a way nothing else can. I have a dog I rescued from the shelter 10 years ago who was on death row and she is still with me and is 13. I think finding an outlet from our everyday lives helps with the pain and stress.
