TALENTS AND CREATIVITY

Anything on your mind that isn't about RLS? It's nice to realize that there is life beyond this disease and have an opportunity to get to know our online family in a different context.

Wasn't sure which one to give you - I have so many ....

But here are a few of my favourites to start with - pick one (I'll trust your judgement) ...

If I must …

If I must fail
Let me not fail without cause
If I must fall
Let me fall into your arms

If I must fight
Let it be for our freedom
If I must cry
Let them be tears of Joy

If I must hurt
Let it be to still your pain
If I must go
Let it be so that you can stay

If I must forget
Let it be so that you can remember
If I must die
Let it be my season

My Wish

I aspire to be an Investigator
A truth-pioneer
Uncovering the darkness
That lurks inside a soul tormented
By rejection, scorn and longing
The darkness which leads to acts
Of unspeakable horror and degradation
The cold and calculated extermination of the life
Of a fellow human being
A flame extinguished in it’s prime
I aspire to know why, how, when
I aspire to speak for those who have no voice
To tell their tales
Who they were, what they felt
Their last moments on this sphere
That we call home
And finally …
To bring them home
To lay them to rest
Fear assuaged, their pleas for life publicised
Recognition for their bravery in the very face of death
Peace …
I pray for compassion, empathy
And the gift of their pain
I pray for the souls of all the lifeless little bodies
Tossed away like disposable tissues on the ash-heap of life
I pray for those who remain behind
I pray for the excision of their guilt
At not being there
In those final, fatal moments
I pray for my very soul
That it may withstand the rigors of my chosen profession
That I may never lose sight of the victims
For they are responsible for the choices I have made
They inspire me, scare me, uplift me and chill me to the bone
And deserve every iota of credit I attribute to them
For they are, in part,
Who I am and what I aspire to be

The River

It began as but a trickle
Those many years ago
The rains and snowfalls fed it
And slowly it did grow

We didn’t see it growing
As year by year it grew
Each tiny new drop added
Summer, winter through

Years came, years went
The sun beat down
But could not stop the brook
It wound, it faltered, staggered
As each new course it took

Not sun on high, nor blood red moon
Could make it lose momentum
Meandering on each new quest
It through the valleys ran

The brook became a little stream
And still it did collect
Each little raindrop from above
As on its path it swept

The stream evolved
A river ran!
A new path it carved out
Erasing sadness, sorrow, grief
And loneliness and doubt

It so it runs today, my friends
As wild and free as ever
Along its wild and twisting path
Stop it?
No, not ever …..

Wonderful! I will print these out. It depends if and how the Foundation responds to this, as to how we put it all together to show.

Well, guys I heard from Beth Osowski at the RLS Foundation and she thinks this whole thing is a great idea. Our problem is that since we are working on such short notice for them and also since we really haven't reached very many people with our idea, we might do a powerpoint presentation with pictures of each person's creation (and their own picture if they want to add it) with their name that will scroll during certain times. Like during the breaks or between meetings. Then next year we can plan on something more or if this works well, we can expand on it. The Foundation also thought we might work up a "slideshow" for the extranet. For the poems or short stories, or just a list of the many things you might do, I could make up a nice scrapbook or binder. So, what do you think? Give me your ideas, suggestions, yeahs or nays.

It's time I get in gear if I want to take anything to Orlando. I will print off the poetry on this thread so far and if anyone else has anything, please either add it soon or PM me. If you have pictures of crafts, artwork etc you would like to send me for the scrapbook, again PM me and I will send you my mailing address. I need anything you want to show ASAP so I can do a decent job of putting it together. Hopefully next year we will have a better was to present and may yet but I need to know what you have. Talk to you all soon I hope.

Hello Miss Rubyslippers,
So would you rather I just bring a scrapbook of the things I've done this time? Sorry a little foogy on if you want the tree or just pictures.
I can't wait to see you at the meeting and Hugs to you.

Definately want pictures for now. You can send them to me. I'll PM my address to you. If the Foundation decides to do the power point presentation then I may ask you to scan them over to them if you can. But if you want to bring any of your trees, that's great. I'm not sure when or where we will get to show them but we will find a place and time. It's really is up to you.

Ruby

I'll get my pics in the mail either today or tomorrow. Gosh, girlfriends! It's less than a month now! Can you believe it?

I'll have to pinch myself. Ruby, I'm practicing my dance for you. Becat, I'm gettin' ready.

TTYL!
