They've ruined our sport. I hate it. The same people who messed up Christmas and every other holiday have ruined Football. It's all about making money and appealing to the side of us they think we are all about. I hate them and I want them to die and go down there...to the bad place.
It's hard to watch anymore without being disgusted. Another commercial, another celebration after making a frigging routine tackle or a catch that I could have made only they're getting paid 3 million to make them and they drop a lot of them.
Last night on the Denver/Indy game the network came back from a commercial focusing in on the sign above the entrance to the ball park...Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium. Can you see the day when both end zones will be sponsored?
"Joseph Addai into the Verizon Endzone at Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium", or better yet, each yard marker?
"It's 4th and 6 at the Burger King 25.........." as they are forever "sneaking" corporate sponors into the game, on the sidelines, in the endzone, on the Field Goal net.
It's sickening. It literally is making me hate stuff. The Network executives are selling out our sport and not only to big corprations but to you and I and supposedly we WANT a lot of things I didn't know about. Apparently WE want to see an original and choreographed End Zone celebration after a TD. WE want a close up, a clear shot...the camera set on TO on EVERY PLAY and we want to see his reaction after every play. We want to see the players FLEX after a tackle with their gold teeth shining in the stadium lights. It's getting to the point where the last thing that matters is the football game, the athleticism of the players, the skill and strategy of the coaches and players...it's all lost on Pink doing the second half intro.
I hate it. To me it's like watching the frigging Grammys, the red carpet affair at the NFL game.
It's never going to end. We're going to have to just put up with it. We can still watch college Football on Saturdays but it's getting just as bad. The Ohio State/Michigan game is going to feature Paris Hilton lip synching her "hit" at halftime. Wait and see.
I gotta go for now. Monday Night Football is coming on. New England is playing somebody and I hope Brady and company have some new routines ready.
