Hey guess what I've got good news

Over here in Scotland , there is an organisation which supports mental health recovery......and they held regional photo competitions.

Well I entered and won the mentally positive section of the competition and so have been entered into the national competition.

The national competition is judged by a professional photographer and a professional artist.....but they also have put the photographs on the internet for a public vote.

MY PHOTO IS NUMBER 10 AND IS CALLED " LIFE ON THE EDGE OF A DREAM"

It was taken at a place called The ladys Tower at Elie in Fife.....it is taken in the darkness of the tower looking out to the sea..

I also wrote a poem at the same time which was displayed with the photo. The section I entered was called "Mentally Positive" for me the photo was important as I was going thru a very black time in my life and going to the sea helped me thru this time, the sea is a big influence on me feeling good.

My Poem

"Life on the edge of a Dream"


The sea crashes onto the black rocks
White spray cascading high up into thr air
mini rainbows dance in the sunlight
falling like diamonds into the dark blue sea

Small whirlpools
hypnotise my mind
freeing it from all thoughts
calmness takes over

Thoughts melt into dreams
dreams melt into reality
spiraling and spiraling until
reality becomes a dream
a dream of timeless space
aware only off the sea gently
rushing quietly over the sand

My senses are alive
to the sound of the sea
the sound of chidren playing on the beach
a dog barking in the distance
and the beating of my heart

The sun glints on the water
turning the sea into shimmering silver
butterflies, delicately dance and tease
daring to be caught
the vibrant colours of the
sky, the sea, the grass and the flowers
fill my eyes with beauty
and pleasure

I smell the salt in the air
and taste it on my lips
I smell the fragrant wild flowers and the grass
warmed by the sun
this is

Very nice photo. There are a few others that are pretty good, but yours it definitely one of the best from the bit I remember from my photography classes.

thanks to those who have voted for my picture.....i now have 55 votes and am running 4th......he he its quite exciting....at the centre I go to they are always checking to see how its going......I have never had people excited about anything I do..its a nice feeling.

My photo is being used in a callendar for October month, next year , It will represent the centre that I attend...oh wow never had anything like that happen like that before.
