URL Shortening

In a recent post, entering long URLs came up.
There are multiple ways to shorten URLs when you enter them into a thread. If anyone wants to know how to use the URL button to make a word in your document into a hyperlink, let me know.
If you simply want to shorten the URL but post it as is, there are URL shortening services - free and lots of them, like TinyURL and Metamark for just two examples.
I don't use a Mac, but I happened on this blogpost. It may help a Mac user in a different way. I didn't pay much attention to it as I don't use a Mac.
