I want to go to school

I've decided that I want to go to school. I'm currently a stay at home mom, I have 4 kids 13, 10, 8, and 2. I moved into a new state and will get my residency in 01-01-2010. So I've got some time to plan where to go apply for loans etc.

I decided also today that I'd like to be a pharmacist. (any pharmacists out there with suggestions, advice let me know!!!). I've been held back for the last several years due to RLS and lack of sleep. Now that I'm getting sleep most nights at least 5 hours it's time to move on and get some education.

I'm 35 on May 3rd. My highest level of education is High School and that was some years ago. So any advice that anyone has about how to enroll in school find a counselor etc would be much appreciated.

I will truly have beaten my RLS when I have accomplished secondary school! This is my dream! Advice welcome =)

well, . My husband lost his job on 4-30-09. 4 days after this post. I'm not going to say in cancels my plans, but with 4 kids I'm going to have to do some extra foot work. I had to quit my job back in Feb 08, because of my lack of cognitive ability, and my legs, and my lack of sleep. Now I need a job NOW. I don't even know if I can hold one down but I gotta do my best, I gotta try my hardest. So if anyone is in the Newark Delaware USA area and hiring I'm looking for work. I'd do anything. I won't have residency in Delaware till Jan 2010. I wish I had better news. =(*

I don't know if I had a previous message board account, but I've been looking at this website for 4 years, and struggling with my legs for 5 solid years and off and on for 13 years.

Hi Woodsie, that's tough news.
And no consolation that at this present time payoffs are world wide.
Good luck to you and your family.

Woodsie, try not to let the current circumstances deter you from your dreams. A lot of people are going back to school nowadays, because they've lost their jobs, and it will help them to get employed again. It's not that long until you have residency established. Use the time to start checking out what you need to do to become a pharmacist. Pharmacies often hire pharmacy tech's, and maybe that's a job avenue you can explore.

That's d... tough news. We're hearing a lot of that kind of news lately. I agree with the above. If you have to get a job, try to get one in the field of your dreams. Your dream is only postponed; it's not cancelled. Anybody with the motivation to go back to school after four kids has certainly got what it takes to conquer this temporary bad time as well. :)

Do NOT forget about online classes. you can get alot of your basics online while working in day time. Might be a good idea for your husband also.
