He is an RLS specialist named Mark Buchfurer that many of us feel a special affinity for. He, for many years, has answered questions about RLS on the Southern California RLS Help Board (or some such). It's a wonderful book with sections that are perfect to share with your doctor. It also helps educate us - which is equally important. Now, we can all have the knowledge we need to ensure proper care.

His book, along with Yoakum's book, are newly out this year. Since there aren't many books out, it's nice to have two out now. I haven't read Yoakum's, but I think Brandy has and likes it quite a bit. I imagine that you couldn't go wrong with either one, but I will probably end up with both.

Welcome Jeannie. I am so sorry that you are having a rough time with your rls. You have definitely found a good supportive and caring group.

The book that we are talking about you can get up on Amazon.Com and order it as I am sure they have some on hand now. I ordered mine quite a while ago and will be gertting it sometime around the 19th of Dec. It is Dr Mark Buchfurer's book on Restless Leg Syndrome. If it is not at amazon.com try some of your local book stores as they may have it in stock now. Good luck hope that you can find one. I am really looking forward to getting it.

Jeannie, do you see a dr for your rls? Since you are new there is a good forum New to RLS "Managing Rls" on there there is an article from Mayo Clinic Algorithm that you can copy and bring to your dr. Also are you taking some meds for it?

I know other members will post and give you some excellent advise and we will always be here to support you.

If you ever want to just get on the board and talk about anything or feel just like venting, this is the place to be as this such a wonderful group. We are like one big family and look out for each other.

Welcome again, and please keep us posted on how you are doing. This board literally saved my life.

Hi Jumpy
Go to Amazon.com. The name of the book is Restless Legs Syndrome by Mark J. Buchfuhrer. If by chance, Amazon does not have any available go to one of your local book stores, or call them they may have them available also. Good luck. Let me know if you found it
Have a good day.

Am I the only one who has gotten dr B's book? I received it the day before yesterday and I live in Europe!
It is very readable. Not many things in it that we don't already know, but we are just so educated here on the board!
Ann has written a very good chapter on RLS and relationships: everyone should read it!

Happy holidays for all of you

It is very readable, isn't it? They did a great job of keeping it at a level that us "non-doctors" can understand. Thanks for the compliment, Corrie.

Ann, I just read your article on rls and relationships. It was written very well and I could certainly see myself in some of these situations. Thank you for writing that.

I hope that all the ones that have rls get this book and read your article.

Thank you, also. It was due to the input of many members here and on the Yahoo board that I was able to write it. Without their stories, I would have had much more work to do! I appreciate everyone's candor.
