Welcome today to cdnuturn, who was diagnosed with WED/RLS nine years ago but due to a recent move, has ended up with a doctor who seems to be treating drug addiction instead of the actual issue, WED/RLS.

cdnuturn, it would be good if you started a new Topic with a post telling us more about yourself and the medications you are on. And what your new doctor is saying. We have some suggestions for how to deal with doctors who are mistreating us out of ignorance. In many cases, they are willing to learn and things get better.

Welcome to

restless43, who If she doesn't get a good night's sleep due to RLS, she feels miserable the following day...She is often feel confused, can't think clearly & wants to take a nap in the middle of the day...Not good if she does this, because then the RLS begins again that night... She has tried some methol creams to rub on my ankles & feet ...sometimes it helps, but not consistently.

Have you visited with your doctor about your RLS and do you know your serum ferritin number? For some people, increasing their iron levels helps - but not always.

Sunday, July 14

Welcome to

franw22, who for years has been suffering with RLS basically self diagnosed, been to a few doctors who say take this pill and that's it. She tried one with serious side effects and stopped. She got scared and hasn't tried another since she didn't know what to do. She tried another doctor and he basically mocked her fear and said take a pill or SUFFER.

What horrible attitudes from two doctors. Please post a note telling us what you took and the side effects that you experienced. There are alternative treatments available, but we need to know a bit more before we can offer suggestions of things to talk with a doctor about (as well as how to find a good doctor).
