OCTOBER 2019 - New Members

Post by Rustsmith »

Tuesday, October 1

Welcome to

Ctuppy, who has had RLS for years but has been experiencing the symptoms more frequently and the severity has increased lately. It has been interfering with Ctuppy's sleep and as a result Ctuppy is really tired the next day. Ctuppy's Dad had the same issue but nobody knew what it was. So,
Ctuppy is looking for some information on how to get the correct medical or non-medical help.

If you will post a note telling us what you are currently doing for your RLS, that will give us an idea of where to start with our suggestions to you.

Welcome to

Jayebard, who describes RLS as the most miserable thing to deal with because it takes from sleep and well being. Jayebard is no longer responding to RX.

Please post a note telling us what you have been taking. There are always more meds to try to find something that works, but the problem can be finding a doctor who is willing to prescribe them.

Welcome to

SueB, who is seeking natural remedies for RLS

Take a look at our forums on Non-Prescription Medications and Physical Treatments to get an idea of what works and what does not. If you do a search using the magnifying glass in the upper left corner, you will also find several discussions on the use of kratom, an herb with opioid like properties.

Welcome to Men3051

Post by Rustsmith »

Tuesday, October 8

Welcome to

Men3051, who has had marked difficulty sleeping so that he would sometimes nod off at his desk. This continued into his retirement where he would awaken in the night and lie awake for hours and catch up on some sleep in the morning. Gradually it became clear that the occasional bout of aching legs were becoming much worse and interrupting his sleep even more. He started doing internet searches and realized that his symptoms matched criteria for RLS. Pretty scary. He is very interested in anything he can learn that would help him deal with this condition.

Please post a note telling us if you have discussed this with your doctor and have had any blood tests done. We can offer all sorts of suggestions, but we need to know where to start.

Welcome to Myownpillow

Post by Rustsmith »

Friday, October 11

Welcome to

Myownpillow, who has had RLS for years and it is getting worse. She has taken Clonazepam as needed over several years. Doc wants her off them and other meds cause too many side effects. She wants to stay on clonazepam.

Please post a note telling us what your doctor proposes to use for your RLS if you have to get off of clonazepam. Quitting will be challenging and will require the assistance of your doctor, but you also need to have an idea of what happens after your quit.
