Welcome to Perry01

Post by ViewsAskew »

Perry01 joins us today. Perr01 said that they never realized how much they appreciated sleep until RLS reared its ugly head ten years ago.

Amen to that! Please poke around, post if you like, and feel at home. We totally understand.

stephreit joins us today; they have mild to moderate daily RLS, the typical bothersome urges to move in the evening. We hope you are finding some sleep. Do start a post if you have any questions. There is a lot of reading material here, too.

Welcome to plous

Welcome to

plous, whose intense restlessness in his legs often occurs before he goes to sleep and bothers him in the middle of the night when he goes to the bathroom. He can’t stay stationary in bed to read. Anytime he is sitting for awhile, i.e. traveling in a car, watching a movie it will come on. It also might intensify if he is anxious about something.

Please post a note telling us what you are doing to treat your symptoms so that we can offer some suggestions to discuss with your doctor to improve your situation.

Welcome to

brymer, who has severe sleep deprivation, is tired all day, lacks energy and enthusiasm and is too tired to do anything. brymer lacks the pleasure of things that would normally be exciting. Legs jump all day so brymer can't sit for more than ten minutes, has to read, do computer work standing up. Every day is ruled by the effects of restless arms and legs.

Welcome to DJD

Post by Rustsmith »

Thursday, January 9

Welcome to

DJD, whose RLS has robbed DJD of sleep, reduced quality of life and generally altered how DJD lives. Not a day goes by that DJD doesn't think about sleep or about the feeling in DJD's feet and legs at any given moment. It has consumed life.

Please post a note telling us what you are currently doing to try to manage the symptoms. We can probably offer some suggests to discuss with your doctor that will improve your situation.

Welcome to MaineIgloo

Post by Rustsmith »

Friday, January 10

Welcome to

MaineIgloo, who has had RLS since age 10. it runs in the family, and he has passed it on to 2 of their children. It was manageable until about age 40, but for the last 20 years it has controlled his life. He is desperately looked for something that will stop the episodes. Generally introducing a new medication will work for about a month, then stop working. He has been on every medication and tried every "cure" imaginable. He has RLS 24/7 in all limbs. and PLMS so bad, his wife can't sleep in the same bed. He gets maybe 4 hours of sleep a night for 4 or 5 nights, and then he will crash and sleep 12 hours. Trying to explain how bad this is to someone who doesn't have it is almost impossible. He would like to be able to read the stories of other sufferers, and also provide some experience. He is 62 now, and has a long history to draw from.

Welcome to the board. If you will post a note telling us which meds you have tried (and failed), we may be able to offer you some suggestions. Many of us have had similar experiences, but have also found meds that work or combinations that work (most of the time).

Welcome to JT Lyons

Post by Rustsmith »

Friday, January 10

Welcome to

JT Lyons, who was diagnosed for 30 years ago. It has not always been a challenge. Currently JT's RLS is tangled up with several medical issues and successful treatment. Due to JT's current physical and mental health, the increased evidence of RLS is causing serious sleep issues. JT is in the middle of a medication transition and it seems that either my RLS independently or in conjunction with meds interacting has caused a painful upswing in frequency and the duration of RLS activity. JT has taken meds for RLS in the past and is hoping to avoid that now. So, JT wanted to register here to add like minded folks in my circle of support.

Please post a note asking any questions you want or simply jump into one of our existing discussions and add your point of view.

Welcome to Rcr

Post by Rustsmith »

Friday, January 10

Welcome to

Rcr, over the last 20 years Rcr's RLS has gotten worst. Rcr is now 72 and has tried everything to no avail. Rcr has trouble sleeping more than 2 to 3 hours a night and so is looking for different solutions.

Please post a note telling us about the meds that you have tried and failed so that we will know where to start with some suggestions. Many of us with severe RLS find that rather than using a single med, that we need a cocktail of meds to treat the various symptoms and bring our RLS back under control.
