Welcome to Mirdiff320

Post by Rustsmith »

Monday, September 21

Welcome to

Mirdiff320, whose RLS has badly affected Mirdiff's sleep.

Sleep issues are what initially drove most of us to get help. If there is anything that we can do to help, please let us know.

Welcome to CathyT

Welcome to

CathyT, who has had RLS for 15 years and Requip is not working very well now. She is trying to learn what others have experienced.

If Requip was working and now it isn't, there is a good chance that you are experiencing augmentation. You can take a look through our forum on Augmentation to get an idea of what it is and how it is treated, or you can simply post a note with any questions that you have.

Welcome to leslieq

Post by Rustsmith »

Thursday, September 24

Welcome to

leslieq, who because of RLS can no longer sit and read in the evening. She has to walk around holding her book. It affects sleep and the ability to sit for any length of time watching TV, going to the opera, movies etc.

We would be happy to offer you some suggestions for improving control of your RLS if you would be willing to post a note telling us what you are doing to manage your symptoms beyond walking around while reading.

Welcome to phil3rup

Welcome to

phil3rup, whose RLS ever since childhood has increasing become a barrier to everything. He will probably have to retire early as it is becoming impossible to continue working.

If you would like some personalized suggestions for improving control of your RLS so that it doesn't force you to retire early, just post a note telling us a bit about what you currently do to manage your symptoms so that we will have an idea of what to suggest.

Welcome to Mokejoshdaly

Post by Rustsmith »

Saturday, September 26

Welcome to

Mokejoshdaly, who has terrible RLS that is likely caused by Zoloft.

Zoloft and most other anti-depressants can definitely cause RLS or RLS-like symptoms. You might ask to switch to Wellbutrin, which is an atypical antidepressant that is not know to trigger RLS. If you have any questions, please post a note and we will try to answer them.

Welcome to quilternancy

Post by Rustsmith »

Saturday, September 26

Welcome to

quilternancy, whose RLS has made her other physical problems of an acoustic neuroma and stroke harder to deal with since a lousy night's sleep makes her have less energy to walk and be active.

RLS can definitely complicate life and the ability to manage other physical problems. We would be happy to provide you with suggestions for getting more sleep if you feel comfortable with telling us about how you are currently managing your RLS symptoms.

Welcome to RodneyDangerfield

Saturday, September 26

Welcome to

RodneyDangerfield, who is currently suffering from RLS and needs the support of others. He is no longer able to take daytime naps, watch TV on the couch with friends/family or take long car trips.

All those complaints are things that we can all relate to. If you are willing to tell us what you are doing to manage your RLS, we should be able to offer you some suggestions to discuss with your doctor that will help improve things, at least those other than long car trips.

Welcome to

docbraetot, whose is joining because doc's father is suffering from RLS and doc wanted to help him get any information about relieving his symptoms. Signs of depression are also beginning to manifest in him and doc feels really bad that he has to suffer with this disease. Doc is also a practicing physician in the Philippines.

We are willing to do anything we can to help the two of you out. You can post a note asking any questions that you have. You also might want to check out some of the information in the International RLS Study Group's consensus treatment guidelines that can be found at: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/a ... via%3Dihub

Sunday, September 27

Welcome to

sleepybirder, whose RLS has gotten worse and worse, now at 67 with legs and body movements.

If your RLS has spread to other parts of your body, there is a chance that you are experiencing augmentation from your meds. If you could post a note telling us about your current RLS treatments, we may be able to help you out.

Welcome to geo

Post by Rustsmith »

Monday, September 28

Welcome to

geo, who mainly has PLMS and likely some RLS. He can't sleep with PLMS.

Technically, PLMS can only occur while you are asleep, but it can wake you and thereby disturb your sleep. If you are experiencing a need to move while awake, then it is RLS. But 85% of us who have RLS also experience PLMS. If you have any questions, we would be happy to help. All you need to do is post a note with your questions.

Tuesday, September 29

Welcome to

Lbarhoum, whose RLS started when Lbarhoum was a teen and has continued to get worse over the years and now at 58, has many sleepless nights.

Insomnia is a major issue for those of us with RLS. If you would be willing to post a note telling us what you are doing to manage your RLS, we should be able to offer some suggestions that would allow you to get more sleep.

Welcome to Jsebastian

Welcome to

Jsebastian, who needs to plan ahead if RLS symptoms occur during sit down activities. It is always on Jsebastian's mind.

It is far easier to prevent symptoms than to treat them once they have started. If you don't find what you need, just post a note asking any questions that you have and we will do our best to answer them.
