Husband suffering for years

Post by Bicycle01 »

Only seems to be getting much worse. On all the meds including Mirapex, Gababentin and Clonazapam. Desperately looking for an expert physician in the field that can provide advice. Any recommendations? Thx

The RLS Foundation bb.RLS.org has a list of Quality Care Clinics that are staffed by RLS experts. Getting to one may require travel and will probably require a wait of a few months to get an appointment, but the level of care will make that worth it.

Another option is to check with the Neurology department at the nearest major medical school in your area. They may have a neurologist that specializes in movement disorders and who would have experience with RLS. A last suggestion would be to check with every neurologist in your area that accepts your insurance. Call and ask to speak with a nurse. Ask the nurse if the doctor has experience 1) treating RLS, 2) treating RLS augmentation and 3) is willing to prescribe opioids for chronic conditions such as refractory RLS. The answers you get should be very telling.
