Welcome to

Ritute, who is suffering from RLS, increased with insomnia. The lack of sleep is also leading to problems in ritute's relationships.

Insomnia is part of RLS. Are you getting treatment? Do you know your ferritin number? There are ways that your doctor can help. If you would like some suggestions of what to ask for, just post a note that tells us what you are currently doing to manage your RLS.

Welcome today to

paulawesterlund who is 87 and feels worn out, robbed of sleep nightly and so restless in the daytime that concentration is difficult but needs to keep moving. Paula has quit all forms of stimulants.

We are sorry that you are suffering and understand very well how you are feeling. Is your GP supportive and providing helpful treatment?
Perhaps if you would make a post and tell us some of your rls history, what medications/dosages have or have not worked. Have you had your Ferritin Serum levels checked, this is very important because generally anything from 20+ is considered OK but us rls sufferers need our level to be up around 100. It is not done as part of normal blood tests and needs to be specifically requested. Tell us how you have been managing to date and we will do our best to try and help you.

Welcome to

Kellyrush4!, whose RLS is horrible and Drs aren’t helping.

The problem is that most doctors are not familiar with treating RLS and are not trained to admit what they don't know. Read through the document that is linked in my signature, highlight a couple of relevant sections and then give it to the doctor you think that you think might be most receptive to new information. Don't say "I found this on the Internet", ask the doctor for his/her opinion about how this might help with your RLS. And if you have any questions, feel free to post a message. We are here to help when doctors won't.
