Welcome to Destinye4life
Monday, January 15
Welcome to
Destinye4life, who used to have RLS in the legs. Now, recently, when laying down to watch a movie or something and it's just in the right ankle/foot! It's so bad that Destinye can't even concentrate on the movie!
RLS isn't limited to just the legs, it can hit any part of the body. Are you taking anything to help? Has your doctor checked your serum ferritin levels? If you post a message to tell us more, we may be able to help you enjoy that movie.

Welcome to Charlie6
15 January 2024
Welcome to
Charlie6 who has RLS and is looking for options. Augmented twice on requip and can't tolerate most of the other drugs commonly prescribed.
As you have already augmented on requip, you might find the Augmentation Forum relevant.
What are you currently using to control your RLS symptoms. Has your doctor checked your ferritin serum level which as an RLS sufferer needs to be up around 100 and not 'normal' which can be considered ok at 20. I suggest you make a post give details of what has not worked for you. This gives us a starting point to try and help you.

Welcome to insanolayne
Friday, January 19
Welcome to
insanolayne, who has had RLS in the thighs ever since insanolayne can remember at age 5 or 6. insanolayne would get up late at night and do laps around the house. insanolayne is 46 now and it's not changed any.
Are you receiving any medical treatment to help? Has your doctor checked your ferritin number? I can help with suggestions but need a few more details in a note that you can post.

Welcome to Happy23
Sunday 21 Kamiaru 2024
Welcome today to Happy23 who has terrible RLS and wants to learn more about it and ways to conquer it!
We are glad you have found us (but sorry that you need us). There is a lot of information to be found and we hope you find it useful.
Have you had your Ferritin Serum checked and if so make sure you know the result number, don't just accept that it is normal. Normal can be anything from 20+ but us RLS sufferers need it to be up around 100. If you haven't had your Ferritin Serum checked please ask your doctor to do so. It is not part of the standard blood panel and needs to be specifically requested. Also check out the link in my signature.
Please feel free to ask questions, either by joining a relevant thread or starting your own thread.

Welcome to MarkA
Sunday 21 January 2024
Welcome today to
MarkA who is a lifelong sufferer of RLS. Chronic insomnia with stress.
Chronic insomnia and stress go hand in hand with RLS and something that most of us will struggle with. We understand how you feel. Is your doctor prescribing medication at present? If you will make a post providing details of your RLS history, what medications have or have not worked for you. Some medications such as most antidepressants may cause or trigger RLS symptoms. If you give us some further information we will do our best to try and help.

Welcome to Imm04
Sunday 21 January 2024
Welcome today to
Imm04 who has had rls for over 20 years and the symptoms keep getting worse. Imm04 would love to hear from others who are going through the same thing.
Are you being prescribed medication by your doctor? I wonder have you been prescribed a DA such as Ropinerole/Requip or Pramepexole/Mirapex as these are likely to cause augmentation and make your symptoms worse. I suggest you take a look at the Augmentation Forum and see if you can relate to this.
Do you know what your serum ferritin level is? As you would like to hear from others I suggest you make a post giving your RLS treatment past and present, and how you have been coping. If you have any questions go ahead and ask.

Welcome to Deanna005
Monday, January 22
Welcome to
Deanna005, who has had RLS for over 30 years and it has ruined her life.
Most of us can relate to how RLS has changed our life compared to the time prior to getting RLS. If you have any questions or would like some suggestions on how to improve the treatment of your RLS, just post a note and let us know how we can help.

Welcome to Sandra
Monday, January 22
Welcome to
Sandra, who I have RLS for many years and all medications she has tried have stopped working. She is looking for ways to help me live a pain-free life.
Most people who say that they have tried all medications were not told by their doctor about all available medications either because their doctor doesn't know about the others or because their doctor is not willing to prescribe opioids. To learn about all of your options, take a look at the document found in the link in my signature.

Welcome to Yvonne
Monday 22 January 2024
Welcome to
Yvonne whose RLS is having a tremendous affect on quality of life. It is experience throughout the day in legs, arms and torso.
We are glad that you have found us. Have you had your Ferritin Serum checked, this should be up around 100 for an RLS sufferer and not acceptable at 20+ which may be considered as normal. This isn't done as part of a standard blood panel and needs to be requested specifically.
If you will make a post providing details of how you have been treating your RLS, what has and has not worked for you, we will do our best to try and help.

Welcome to Had_it_50+years
Friday, January 26
Welcome to
Had_it_50+years, who has had RLS intermittently since the mid-teens, over fifty years. Had_it couldn't sleep well because either the legs or arms or both were driving Had_it crazy. It wasn't until around twenty-five years ago that Had_it found out it was a known disease with drugs available for treatment. Had_it has used many of them by now and am finally on one that works exceptionally well without noticeable side effects. Without a medication that is working well, RLS can be an agonizing disease.
I am just a few years behind you in experience. Most of us will agree that without an effective treatment, RLS is intolerable. Unfortunately, doctors are either not familiar with the higher tier meds or are unwilling to prescribe them. If you have any questions, feel free to post a message or just join in an existing discussion.

Welcome to Cbggolf
Saturday, January 27
Welcome to
Cbggolf, whose RLS is interfering with having dialysis. Cbggolf is unable to sit to have dialysis when legs are twitching and jerking.
Your RLS needs to be treated with medication to calm them. This can be tricky with dialysis, but is possible. There is a section in the document that appears in the link in my signature for special situations and I believe that kidney dialysis is included in that section.
If you have any questions, feel free to post a message.
