Welcome to Linda J

Post by Rustsmith »

Welcome to

Linda J, who has severe RLS and tried Horizant which helped for a time but faded, so she just started taking Ropinirole. She is in search of reliable information from people that have taken the full course and anecdotally if they are glad they did given all the risks. She is also ALWAYS interested in natural treatments which I had been trying many over the past 15 or so years of suffering with RLS and the attendant sleep deprivation.

All that you need to do to get the information that you are interested in about ropinerole is to post a message telling us about your current dose and asking about the factors that you are interested in.

As for natural treatments, you can find some information about those in our forum on Non-prescription medications although I will warn you that most of the information that you will find there for those who have severe RLS is not very favorable.

Welcome to Dogmama

Welcome today to

Dogmma who has had RLS for 20 years. Insomnia, inability to take long trips or even to sit and read are her constant companions. She is augmenting on ropinerole and needs help.

Insomnia is very much a part of RLS and we are all very aware of how difficult it is to take long trip, or to just sit and relax. We understand how you suffering. You say you are augmenting on Ropinerole, take a read through the Augmentation Forum and see how much is relevant to yourself.
You probably know that the only answer to augmentation is getting off the Ropinerole. Is your doctor sympathetic to your sufferings, aware of how to support you as you would wean off the Ropinerole. If your doctor was willing to prescribe a low dose opioid as you wean off it would ease what is a pretty difficult journey.
The link in my signature has information which would be useful to yourself and to your doctor.
If you have any questions please make a post and ask, giving us background information regarding the dosage of Ropinerole you are currently taking and what else you have tried that did or did not work.
Do you know your Ferritin Serum level which for an RLS sufferer should be up around 100 and not at 20+ which is often considered acceptable.

Welcome to Bringdata

Welcome today to

Bringdate who has been living with RLS for a lifetime. It has become worse with age and Bringdata wants to hear from others about their experiences.

You could start with reading through the Just Joined Forum and see how others have been coping.
Are you currently on any medicaton and has it helped. Do you know your Ferritin Serum level, the actual number, which for an RLS sufferer needs to be up around 100. Do not accept being told that it is normal. Normal can be anything from 20+.
Feel free to join any relevant thread. If you have any questions you could also start your own thread. Ask anything, we are here to try and help.

Welcome to

Letgomyleg, who has had RLS for as long as Letgo can remember. It usually affects Letgo at night when Letgo tries to sleep it will wake Letgo up. Letgo has found a couple of things that help manage it and wants to share them in case they are helpful to others.

Welcome to VGF

Welcome to

VGF, who has had to stand at the back of the movie theater for over an hour. She has had to move, rub, & jiggle her legs while driving, She has put hole in a good bed sheet because her legs move so much. She has been to multiple doctors & been on multiple medications trying to find help in order to live a normal life. Restless legs is now bothering her all day & night.

You have found what many of us have experienced, namely that most doctors have no idea of how to properly treat RLS. Further, many still use medications that initially help but eventually make RLS worse.

If you read through the document that the link in my signature points to, you should learn what you need to be able to educate your doctor and find a treatment program that works. And if you have any questions, just post a note that tells us a bit about the meds that you have tried so that we can advise you of how to proceed and get the relief that you need.

Welcome to Kmac

Welcome to

KMac, who has RLS that keeps Kmac awake 50% of nights. KMac is looking for a non-medication resolution for RLS.

Take a look at our Non-Prescription and Physical Treatment forums to see what has worked and what has not worked for our members. Also, the FDA recently gave approval for the TOMAC system, which is a wearable treatment for RLS.

If you have any questions that you would like discussed, just post a message for us to see.
