On Friday also, we offer a welcome to zymaise who is looking to learn more about others with this condition. Lots of us here to talk to, browse around if you like, and start a topic. A good place to start is here in Just Joined, but you can choose another forum instead, whatever suits you.
If you have questions about how to do it, there's a Frequently Asked Questions link (FAQ to the top right).

On Sunday Jan 26 we welcome Dreaming of a cure. (I hold that hope as well.) Dreaming of a cure has suffered from WED since teenage years, and is now 52, dreading the night.

Are you not on any medication, Dreaming? It sounds like either you're not being treated with medication and need to be, or you have been treated with a dopaminergic medication that has caused augmentation. Whatever the case, please share your story and your questions, and let us know where your greatest need for information lies. We will do our utmost to help you out, with information if we have it or with an understanding ear if you need to vent or cry.

Today, Monday, we welcome jardenecastles, who wants to keep abreast of new solutions for this disease.

We try to keep up with the research and post new findings in dedicated topics/threads about them. We also periodically have discussions in other topics about new findings. If it's related to pharmaceuticals, we put it in that area of the board. If it's non-pharma, we put it in the General WED area.

Tuesday 28 January

Welcome today to
MariaVR - who from her symptomology feels she has WED/RLS.
Please look through the stickies at the top of the Just Joined posts which are full of good information. Tell us a little about your symptoms and how you have been coping.

This is a list that one of our Moderators previously posted to help decide if you have RLS or WED as it is now known. It does no harm to relist it now and again.

QUESTIONS TO DECIDE IF YOU HAVE WED
If it helps, here are the questions listed by a doctor to determine if it is WED:
1. Do you experience the urge to move?
2. Is the need to move overwhelming to the point that you cannot resist moving your legs?
3. Will the urge to move increase if you are in a confined position?
4. Do you have symptoms both sitting and lying?
5. How long do you need to be at rest before your leg symptoms begin?
6. Do your symptoms only begin when your legs are in a specific posture?
7. How quickly do you get relief when you start moving?
8. Do your leg symptoms occur when you are walking?
9. If you have obtained relief with walking, do the symptoms ever return while you continue to walk?
10. When are your symptoms worst?
11. When you are symptoms least?
12. Do you find your symptoms are less in the morning?

welcome to Emzdesj, who is young and very frustrated by the pain. Emzdesj, start a topic here in Just Joined, if you'd like, and tell us how you know you have WED/RLS (if you do), and what medications you're using, if any. Lots of people find relief, but we mostly have to learn how to ourselves, because most physicians aren't up on it. We share what we know here. Hope you can find enough information to get some lasting relief and hope.
