Hi all, I am age 65, female, and live on the Gulf Coast, near Gulf Shores, Alabama and Mobile, Alabama. If anyone knows a good doctor in this area for RLS please let me know. I look forward to learning more about RLS and other's experiences.

Over the last couple of months we have had a number of inquiries for doctors in New Orleans or the Mississippi Gulf Coast. So far, no one has suggested a name. You might scan through the two following discussion threads, but I suspect that you may not find a lot that is useful. At this point, for recommended doctors your best bet right now probably includes a drive to either Houston or Atlanta.

1. This thread includes a number of specific doctors around the country: http://bb.rls.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=8115&hilit=favorite+doctor
2. This thread is located at the top of the Just Joined forum and provides suggestions on how you might be able to find someone locally: http://bb.rls.org/viewforum.php?f=2

If I were in your shoes, I would probably try a call to Oschner to find out if they have a neurologist or movement disorder specialist who is familiar with WED. I would then visit with that individual to see if he/she really knows about WED.
On the other hand, many find that it is easier to educate your GP using literature from the WED Foundation since GPs are often much more willing to admit what they don't know and are usually willing to learn if they think it benefits a number of their patients.
