RlS diagnosis update.
Met with a new sleep doctor; this time a neurologist. He confirmed that I do not have RLS or PLMD. He was unable to give me a diagnosis because he wants to do a sleep study that includes tests that the other sleep study did not and he wants me to have lab tests, x-rays and a MRI to determine the cause of my sleep disorder. There is a possibility that the sleep disorder is due to an obstructed airway. I have also informed him of aches in my neck and shoulders upon rising which seems to support the OA possibility.
I am scheduled for a sleep study on Friday, Dec.5 and will find out the results of the study and tests on Dec. 22.
Thanks to all who have shared their opinions and experiences with me. They helped me to decide to pursue a second opinion and not return to the original sleep specialist.

Good luck, I hope your study and tests lead to a positive resolution.

So glad you went for a second opinion. I do hope this doc is able to pin it down for you quickly.
