Please welcome

Jerald12, who has suffered for years without understanding what was going on. Now, the symptoms have increased in intensity and frequency such that any available information for dealing with WED is needed. And to
livelyt, who has severe RLS that is debilitating and cannot even work right now. Lively is reaching out to others for help with understanding and coping with WED.

You should be able to find much of what you need by looking through the existing discussion threads. If you don't see what you need, feel free to post a question to start a new discussion.

10, January,

Welcome to wigglylegs, whose daughter has been diagnosed with PLMS and also appears to have WED/RLS; wigglylegs would like to connect with other parents and learn more.

wigglylegs, welcome. You mentioned that is not a lot written about the pediatric population. You are absolutely right about that! In general, there is little about PLM in ANY population.

The good news is that we will be happy to support you and help you as best we can. The not so good news is that many parents check in, learn what they need to, and then do not spend a lot of time here. There are many older posts, however, and those of us who are adults but who had PLMs as a child may be able to help, too (I've had them since I was a toddler, for example).

Also on 12 January, welcome to

fieldfoof, who was diagnosed with WED in 2009 and used meds for awhile, but stopped. Symptoms are worse and fieldfoof is considering medication again.

Difficult decision, isn't it? Please let us know how we can help; or poke around yourself and find information that helps. You might want to start with the link in my signature - it has information that can help with that decision.

Welcome to

JCMT6080, who has had RLS for over 50 years, although it was undiagnosed until about 1992, and has taken much medication through the years but it only gets worse.

Look around to see if there what information that we have that would be useful to you or post a note introducing yourself and describing your situation. Also, depending upon your medication, you might be experiencing augmentation. Take a look at the information in my signature as well as that of badnights to find out more.

and to

Dw58, who is looking for more up-to-date information about RLS as it has been getting worse and insomnia is increasing as a result of RLS!

You have come to the right place for information. If you do not find exactly what you are looking for, please post a note with a question or a comment.

and also to

agpthng, who is getting ready to search for yet another physician and needs suggestions of what to look for in New Hampshire for the correct type of physicians.

Take a look through the discussion thread at the top of the General Topics forum titled WED/RLS Recommended Doctors. You will find quite a bit of discussion there, but I do not know if you with find anything about NH. If not, please feel free to post a question telling us a bit about yourself and what hasn't work so far with your doctor search.

These are all common complaints. Take a look around to find out how others cope with these issues. Also, please feel free to post any questions that you have.

Today we welcome

Lennie, who has terrible restless legs and whose medication for a few years (Ropinorole) has stopped working.

Take a look around, especially at the topics on augmentation since it sounds like that might be what you are experiencing. Pay special attention to the links in badnight's signature as well as mine.

We also welcome:

Monday - 26, Jan.

Welcome to scouterjohn, who has severe WED/RLS, but meds cause their own problems and the whole thing is affecting work and concentration.

Medications can be a double edged sword! We have a LOT of info here about medications and what some of us have done instead or how we've made it work (and some of us haven't!) anyway. Please read if you like or start a new topic/thread whenever you are ready and we'll provide as much help as we can.

Welcome also to:
pankajchandel - who would like to hear from others and to be able to control symptoms.
You will find plenty of information on what others have done, with and without medication. Please feel free to ask questions.
