WELCOME NEW MEMBERS - APRIL 2015
Saturday, April 4
Welcome today to
Sabahow, who has severe PMLD which is getting worse though taking 4mg Requip XL. Getting worse during night and intruding into day.
Take a look around, especially at the sections on augmentation to see if you think that your Requip may be causing this problem.

Welcome today to
AllisS, who has suffered with restless legs syndrome for year. In the last few months it's become much worse. It prevents relaxing in the evenings.
Take a look around to see if you can find any advice that helps. If you do not find what you need, please post a note asking about whatever interests you.
and to
dannajpettigrew, whose RLS was diagnosed 36 yrs ago! She is now in the moderate - severe stage. She also has three adult children and each has been in treatment for WED for several years.
Since you predate virtually all of us with your treatment and diagnosis, I hope that you will share some of your experiences in a post.
and to
cynpears, whose WED has precluded participation in favorite forms of exercise, caused sleepless nights and lately has affected walking, despite the latest pharmaceuticals.
Look the the existing posts to see if you can find anything that helps. If not, please feel free to post a question.
and our fourth new member of the day is
Soleil, whose WED has become a daily/nightly occurrence controlled only by taking unwanted meds due to far too many side effects. She lives a healthy lifestyle with yoga, meditatation, exercise, a healthy diet, blood work is good in all areas including iron, yet the WED persists.
See if you can find any ideas in our discussions that might help. If you cannot find what you are looking for, just post a note to ask.

Welcome today to
maryelizabeth, who had mild and occasional WED since becoming an adult. After surgery 4 years ago it became so severe that medication is now required every night. Augmentation is a recurring problem, as well as never being able to schedule evening activities that require me to sit still.
and to
Bob G, who lives his entire life around the medications. His is a full body 24 hour a day problem. He takes ropinirole and hydrocodone every 6 hours to live a somewhat normal life.
You came to the right place for answers as well as understanding of your situation. Take a look around, if you don't find what you need please post a note with your question or comment.

Welcome Wednesday the 8th to ggarland, who's had WED/RLS throughout adulthood, but it's gotten worse. Even with medication and coping techniques, there are plenty of sleepness nights.
ggarland, if your symptoms have gotten worse since starting medication and you are taking one of the drugs in the dopamine agonist category (such as pramipexole), you may have augmentation. Let us know and we can help you decide.

Thursday, April 9th, welcome to:
tba, who has had thigh pain since a teenager.
Do check out the link in my signature - among other things, it has information to help decide if the sensation you are feeling is WED/RLS.

Please welcome
Newstead, who has had LED for over 15 years, is now on the third medication yet with each passing year it gets worse.
Take a look around for information that might help. Since you are still getting worse with the medication you might take a look at the links in my signature and that of badnights about augmentation.

Welcome today to
Ginny, who before medication I had trouble sitting for long periods of time like movies, reading, plane flights. Getting a good nights sleep was also a problem.
That is something that resonates with all of us. Take a look around to see what you can learn. If you don't understand something, please do not hesitate to post a question - no matter how simple.

Welcome on Sunday, 12 of April, to
freebee37, who has had WED/RLS now for about 8-9 years and who has used ropinirole most of that time with mixed results but mostly good.
Brenda, who has WED/RLS and wants other options besides medications in case the meds aren't available.
Brenda, please start a new topic and tell us more about your concerns. Hopefully we can help answer them.
freebee37, if you've had to increase your ropinerole more than once over the years, if you take more than 1 mg per day, or you have had your symptoms increase since you started, let us know.

Thursday, 16, April, we welcome Deeje, who has had difficulty in both work and family life because of WED/RLS. A lot of pain that is unbearable, both day and night.
So sorry it's so hard, Deeje. If you like, introduce yourself and tell us more. We might be able to help you get it under better control so it has less impact.
