Welcome today to
SCRLSmom, who got WED in her forties. It started minimally, but got more intense over time to the point where that the "weird feeling" was keeping her awake. Now it sometimes affects her in the evening before going to bed, while watching TV, etc.
RDPRDP, who was diagnosed as having PLMs in sleep; WED/RLS only occurs at the point when trying to get to sleep. Very tired and moody.
niknac1018 - whose husband has severe WED and is looking what others do to cope and treat.
Take a look around to see if there is anything that could help you, "A good place to start: Managing WED/RLS" at the top of this forum should help a lot, and please do not hesitate to post a note asking any questions. Specifically to RDPRP, there isn't a lot about just having PLMs (little research about it)- please start a post as one of the moderators used to be exactly in your position and can share her story.

WELCOME today to
braniff2, who had been fighting WED for several years, was recently sent to a Neurologist and a Rheumatologist and is looking for help and encouragement from this group.
You have definitely come to the right place for help and encouragement! Take a look at the post at the top of this forum titled "A good place to start: Managing WED/RLS" and feel free to post a note introducing yourself and asking any questions you need.

Welcome today to
lhoff12085, for whom it took many years for her to realize that she was different from others. She was finally diagnosed by a rheumatologist and saw her 1st neurologist. He said RLS doesn't occur during the day.
You will find that many of us will strenuously disagree with your neurologist. One of the issues many of us face is doctors who are not completely familiar with WED and how to treat it. So, take a look around, starting with the thread at the top of this forum "A good place to start: Managing WED/RLS". Then if you have any questions, please post a note asking for advice or simply to vent.
and to
Rainberry, who is waking up many times throughout the night and is very tired during the day. Her quality of life is deteriorating due to always being tired.
and to
MariS, who is very frustrated, is taking meds but it just seems worse, and has recently been diagnosed with PLMs in sleep.
Please, take a look around to get some ideas on how you could proceed to improve your sleep and your life. If you don't find what you need, please post a note and ask us. We really are happy to provide any help we can. Oh, and MariS, do let us know what you are taking - if you are taking medications and it isn't helping, we might be able to help you figure out what could work better for you.

WELCOME to
Shir0gane, who has been suffering from heavy insomnia and other issues for many years. When Shir0gane recently (and pretty much by chance) decided to read up on RLS and the revelation was downright mindblowing and now needs to talk about this, share observations and help spread the word, since awareness in Germany seems to be very low.
I almost laughed when I saw our summary since most of us have had similar experiences. Take a look around the existing discussions to see if you can get any ideas and please feel free to post new notes sharing your observations.
and to
pinkynose, who has known about RLS for 2 months and can no longer trust that sleep will come at night. Before RLS she was an active, vibrant, energetic woman and now can't even make plans because without sleep she will not be able to follow through with them.
Welcome to the group and we look forward to providing whatever help, support and information that we can.

Also welcome today to:
soozie - who hasn't been able to sleep well for years and has been told that during a sleep check her legs kept moving and woke her up. Have you been told that you have RLS/WED: Do you have the urge to move to get rid of horrible sensations in your legs. If you make a post and tell us your symptoms and we will do our best to help.

Sunday 26 April
Welcome today to:
SnappyK - who is being checked for RLS and would like to learn more about it. Please feel free to post and ask questions, we will try to help and consider the criteria for RLS/WED.
and to
mcstartzman - whose RLS symptoms are getting worse as due to adjustment to a Parkinsons medication. Other side effects to the DA are forgetfulness and being unfocused.
You did not say how much of the Parkinsons drug you are taking, but it sounds a lot like you are experiencing augmentation. Take a look through that forum and you will probably find quite a bit that sounds familiar. After that, please post a note with any further questions that you have.

Welcome today to
TPGulch, who is over 70 years old and has had RLS for more than 30 years and It just continues to get worse. TPGulch has seen many doctors and none of them are very sympathetic to rls and most of them don't even know what it is. Very frustrating.
Many of us have had similar experiences. Take a look around for information that might help guide your treatment, and you will definitely find a number of discussions about finding an acceptable doctor.
and
denisef, for whom RLS is getting more disabling with age. The symptoms are starting earlier in the day and occur everyday.
To get an idea of what others do to cope, take a look through some of our past discussions. Also let us know if you are currently taking any medication for your RLS, perhaps that would help.
