Welcome today to

bdoo, whose Mother has RLS and it is now effecting her whole body. bdoo wants to hear about other peoples feeling and problems they experience and how they deal with RLS.

Take a look through the various discussions, especially the Just Joined and General Topics forums. If you don't find exactly what you are looking for, create a topic and ask whatever you need.

Welcome to

judynied, whose RLS has taken away her ability to lie down, sit down, go to movies, participate in driving trips. Work has also suffered She recently had a total knee replacement and the surgery exacerbated the RLS so severly I now have it 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.

Take a look around and see if you can find something that might help. Also, please feel free to post a note asking for whatever advice you think might help you out.

and to

Rosalieyb, whose RLS causes her to wake up and not get back to sleep for hours. That is a common complaint.

Look around to learn what you can and then feel free to post a note with any questions or comments.

and to

rlannoyed, whose father had RLS his whole life and never really knew what it was. Annoyed has "luckily" inherited this from him. At least it makes me think of him, which is the only positive about the whole thing. I'm exhausted, fuzzy at work sometimes, and drive my husband crazy.

I really like your perspective (and login ID). Look around and then let us know what advice we can give that might help out.

Welcome today to

ooboo, who has had RLS since she was a little girl, before anybody had any idea what rls even was. She is now 63 and at the top recommended level of Requip XL and pretty much dances 24 hrs a day with it. With
an apt with her neurologist in 2 weeks, she whats to see what the next step is.

Take a look around to see if you can find any ideas. You might want to check out the numerous discussions on augmentation using the Search function (upper right corner). If you don't find what you need, feel free to post a question.

and to

thanksmom, who takes meds and still has problems. As for sleep -- what is that?

Look through our posts and see if you can find something helpful. And then post a note with anything you could not find (or feel free to simply vent).

and to

cmeneg, who is miserable in concerts, theater, traveling and sleeping.

You will find lots of like minded souls here. Feel free to look around and if you have any questions, please post a note with them.

Welcome today to

Tlgreg60, who is sleep deprived and has problems with long trips driving, sitting in theatre and too much activity during the day. TLgreg has lots of medication reactions and is currently using Nuerotin but has issues with dizziness.

Take a look around and see if there is any information that will help. And please do not hesitate to ask any questions or to simply write a post to vent your frustrations.

and to

golfgla258, who had had RLS for over 20 years (before meds were specific for it) and STILL hasn't found anything that works, but is willing to search again.

Take a look through the forum on Prescription Medications. You should find quite a few interesting discussion threads about individuals with successful treatments and those who are struggling to maintain control. If you don't find exactly what you are looking for, please post a note with any questions.

Welcome today to

jlaurent, whose husband has been unable to find an effective treatment for his rls. He falls asleep at work and at church. Because the meds have not worked for him, we are exploring alternative therapies.

Take a look through our physical treatments and non-prescription medicines forums to see if you can find anything useful. If not, please feel free to post a question.

And to

Chrisp813, who has had a chronic 24/7 problem in all my limbs since she was 20 and is now 32 and can only work part time. She is also having extreme difficulties finding doctors who understand. She only haw one child and has dismissed the idea of having anymore children because it's too much, as well as the stress and anxiety/depression that exists from RLS.

Take a look around to see if you can find any ideas that are helpful. And then, PLEASE post a note giving us some details so that we can make some suggestions. Also, if you can give us an idea of where you live, possibly we can point you toward a doctor (but also may not be able to as the options are often limited).

and to

Dorish, who is 83 years young and whose RLS has increasingly gotten worse in the last year. She takes Requip but has a great number of side effects that make it a bad option.

Take a look through the Prescription Medications section to get an idea of you options as well as the problems that you can expect in getting off of the Requip. If you have any questions, please feel free to post a new note.

And the forth new member of the day is

Sunnyboy, who has severe RLS. He has had it for 10 or more years and have tried just about everything! Nothing works over the long haul.

Sunnyboy, you will find that most of us on the board have at least moderate RLS and some might be classified as extreme. So you are in good company. Many of our struggles with treatment are described in the discussion threads, so take a look around to see what others have been doing to maintain control (as best they can). We have learned that (so far) there is always something else to try. So, if you don't find what you need, please post a note telling us what you have tried and someone should be able to suggest the next step.

Welcome to

karenjh, whose diagnosis took many years. Her husband figured it out when several doctors could not. It has caused many sleepless, uncomfortable, distressing nights.

Congratulations to your husband. As you will see when you look around, problems getting diagnoses and treatments is a common theme. I hope that you have already found a doctor who will work with you. So, if you do not find all of the information that you are looking for, please post a note so that we can help.

Welcome, Saturday 16 of May to rockls, who has RLS/WED and needs some help to manage it.

Please, ask questions if you have them. Or poke around and read existing posts. There is a lot of great info in the sticky posts at the tops of the threads. All moderators have links in their signatures to important topics.

Welcome today to

Fourrunin, who has had major RLS over the past several years as a result of taking Lexapro. Fourrunin has tried to change to another medication but Lexapro is all that works and is therefore interested in exploring treatment options as the problem is worsening and is greatly interfering with sleep.

If you take a look through our past discussions, you will find quite a bit about the various anti-depressants and RLS issues. Unfortunately, there is no single, good answer. So please post a note telling us about what you have tried so that some of our members can provide their comments about what you still may be able to do.

Welcome to

GmelT, who would like to see other people's opinions on some of the medications/treatments that have been prescribed.

If you do not find exactly what you are looking for, please post a note letting us know what you are taking. A number of us have personal experience with quite a few RLS medications.

Welcome to

Grace416, who has had RLS for since she was 14. She is looking to get info on what others do to help them get through the long nights and days.

Take a look through the existing discussions and you may find examples of what others do (and do not do). If you don't find everything you need, please post a note with a question.

and to

miomi33, whose 4 yr old daughter has suffered ( I think) from this since almost day one. She has searched and searched for an explanation to what was going on with her. This is the only thing that matches what is happening with her.

Take a look at the topic "A good place to start: Managing RLS/WED" at the top of this forum for information that my help you decide whether she has RLS. Also take a look through the Special Populations forum for information that is specific to children.

and

deritacarter, who has had symptoms for several years, but it's become terrible more recently, with symptoms in legs, neck and arms.

If you are taking medication, specifically a dopamine agonist such as ropinerole or pramipexole, look up the term augmentation. If you are not taking any medication, it is possible more than one thing is going on. Please explain, in a new topic, what's going on and someone will likely have some input for you.
