Welcome to

theaxels, who describes RLS as a horrible condition and is affecting the quality of my both his life and his wife's because it is robbing his of sleep.

Yes, sleep is a major issue. Please post a note and let us know whether you are currently getting some form of treatment and take a look around for suggestions on how to cope.

Welcome to

Fefster, who is new sufferer but a severely affected one. She has whole body symptoms and is scared.

You have come to the right place for both information and support. Take a look at the discussion thread "A good place to start" for information about RLS/WED. And please feel free to start a new topic with any questions that you have or even just to vent your frustrations. Most of us remember what it was like when we were in your position.

Welcome to

TiredinCharleston, whose RLS has taken control of her days and nights and night time sleep is interrupted at least once a night and sometimes many more times.

Take a look around and see if you see any ideas that you would like to try. Also, feel free to submit a post that tells us about yourself, how you are currently managing your RLS/WED and how we might be able to help.

and to

msapplepip, who is just looking for support as she is suffering with rls and it just seems to be getting worse.

msapplepipe, you have come to the right place for support. If you will post a note telling us about yourself and the problems you are having, we would be happy to provide as much support as possible.

On Wednesday, the 26th of May

Welcome to slowtyper, who's experiencing the typical nasty side effects and is particularly bummed because it makes it impossible to sleep with slowtyper's partner.

Yes, indeed. That is one of the many things that drives us crazy. We do have some possible tactics to deal with the sleeping with partner issues. Please either introduce yourself in a new post or take a look around and see what others have done. We're happy to share info.

Welcome to

cmcintyre, who says RLS/WED "is making me unhappy and exhausted"

Believe me, we all know how you feel. Take a look around and see if you can find something to cheer you up and maybe even help you get some sleep. If you have ANY questions, please post a note and ask away.

AND to

lesanne who has had RLS/WED for over 20 years, but it's gotten progressively worse. Medications help some at night.

Unfortunately, an all too common story! Since medication isn't helping as much as it could, do tell us a bit about your situation. It could be that the medication isn't the most appropriate kind, you don't have enough of it, or that it's led to something called augmentation. Hopefully we can help you tease out the issue and find some better solutions.

Welcome to

Clopez865, who has been having RLS symptoms for the last year. She literally cannot sit still in the evening while watching TV with her husband after dinner and they cannot cuddle together because she is always squirming and moving non stop.

Those are common complaints. Take a look around and see if you can something that helps. And please post a note about yourself and whether you are currently receiving any medication to help.

and to

Emb, for whom RLS/WED has taken a heavy toll. Social plans are difficult and at this stage Emb is having to make choices as to which Drs. and which meds are available.

Please post a note telling us about yourself and the choices that you are facing. Many of us have been where you are and should be able to provide some advice.

and to

bhensonjones, who was just diagnosed at age 75. RLS explains symptoms since childhood, which were dismissed as 'growing pains.' The Neurologist offered meds but was told "No," and now bhensonjones is reconsidering and asked if they will go away once the awareness will fade away?

Unfortunately, your story is not very unusual (I was diagnosed at 61). Please post a note giving us a better idea of what you are experiencing so that we can provide appropriate suggestions.

Welcome to

Jacqui, who cannot sleep at night because of the RLS and would like to know how others are dealing with RLS.

Take a look around at the various forums to get an idea of what various people are doing in the ways of medication and non-medical approaches to controlling their RLS/WED. And please write a post that describes your current situation so that we can provide some suggestions for your current situation.
