Post by Rustsmith »

Sunday, November 1

Welcome today to

jubedu, whose RLS has gradually got worse over 20 years or so. Medication allows some sleep but because of this juebdu is constantly tired.

elmich, who finds it jard to fall asleep or to stay asleep. Also difficult is anything that requires sitting and trying to rest or relax.

egshapiro, who is not sleeping very much and who now finds that while sitting down during the day the feelings are starting.

Njmtngirl, whose RLS was traced back to age 5 by a twin study. Her RLS affects personal relationships and currently sleep deprivation is affecting memory & possibly vision.

roncerra, who has had RLS for many years.

australia5, whose son has rls and she would like to learn and share.

and to

Roseann58, who has endured this condition for over 35 years. It continues to get worse, even with medical assistance. She is looking to connect with others who also are challenged with sleep and sitting still.

Take a look around, especially look at "A good place to start" at the top of this forum. If you do not find what you need, please feel free to post a note asking whatever question that we can help with.

Welcome today to

SteveUK, for whom RLS makes it uncomfortable to sit in one place for a length of time, eg on train, watching TV or in a restaurant. His spouse finds the moving and twitching of my legs annoying, so he sleeps alone to not disturb his spouse.

Take a look around for information starting with "A great place to start" at the top of this forum. If you don't find what you need, please post a note telling us about yourself and asking for whatever info would be helpful.

Welcome today to

katecompt, whose quality of life is severely affected by RLS. It is in her arms, shoulders and legs. And not just at night any more but is also interrupting a lot of her day time too.

Take a look around starting with "A great place to start" at the top of this forum. And please post a note telling us about yourself and whatever treatment that you have so that we can make some more specific suggestions.

and to

genemerk, whose RLS can last hours after meds are taken and is unable to focus on reading or writing during this time.

Take a look around to see what you can learn. You will find a number of references to the fact that meds need to be taken before symptoms begin or else it takes a lot longer for the symptoms to go away. If you have any questions, please feel free to post a note and ask away.

Welcome today to

cabinjohndc, who RLS is mostly pain, rather than restless. It gets worse and worse. None of the standard medications are working any more.

Take a look through the discussions in Prescription Medications. There is always another step that someone else has taken, it is often simply a matter of trying. Please post a note telling us a bit more about yourself if you would like to hear some suggestions.

and to

Aspmama, whose son has RLS. It has led to a severe circadian rhythm disorder, stopped him from going to school, and now he has little chance of a future.

Take a look through the forum that includes Pediatric RLS. You should be able to find something there. If not, please post a note and ask whatever you need. RLS is treatable it is just that sometimes it takes a while to find the correct doctor who is truly familiar with it.

and to

Flowergirl - who has been a sufferer for 4 years and finds this disease rules her life. She has to keep mobile all day and uses heat and cold to get relief at night.

Please read through the Just Joined - A Good Place to Start. Also, perhaps you would post telling us of your treatment history.

Welcome today to

DMack, who is hoping to find some help in managing my RLS. She is getting fed up with frustrating evenings and nights and would love to be able to enjoy a relaxing evening at home without having to keep moving.

and

Night runner, who has had RLS for twenty years. Some nights are unbearable, where runner's legs cannot settle down resulting in sleep becoming very difficult.

Take a look around, especially "A Good Place to Start" at the top of this forum. And please feel free to post a note telling us about yourself and what you are doing to treat your RLS so that we can provide some suggestions.

Welcome today to

Taysdad, for whom RLS has been a part of life since being a teenager. Taysdad is now almost 51 and it has evolved to the point of making life a struggle with Lymes Disease for 20 years as well.

Take a look around to see if you can find anything that helps. Also, please feel free to post a note introducing yourself and asking any questions that we might be able to help with.

Please welcome

Myprobelm, who has suffered for over 15 years. His RLS damages everything that is necessary for a healthy lifestyle of a person of 64.

barbls, who can't even sit in church without my legs going crazy and is scared to ride on an airplane any longer or attend any seminars as sitting would be a problem.

Linen, whose symptoms have worsened, especially after overseas travel with 12 hour time change. Linen has been on miripex but it's not helping and tried requip with no relief. She only slept 4 hours in the past 48 and feels tortured by this disorder.

virgolicistef, who cannot sleep at all during night time and as a result is unable to function normally due to extreme fatigue and lack of sleep. Now the worry is the potential to loose a job because of RLS.

Take a look around to see what you can find that might help. Start with "A good place to start" at the top of this forum. For those of you how have been taking medications, you may also want to take a look through the Augmentation forum.

Welcome to:

Heights53 - who has been a sufferer for 10 years and has been taking Pramipexole. Seeking information as experience with doctors has not been helpful.

Please read about augmentation and see if it rings any bells for you. Feel free to start a thread, introduce yourself, tell us some of your RLS history and we shall do our best to help.

Welcome today to

kjo, who had RLS as a kid and is now 55. kjo has been on different meds and needs some help dealing with being on a Mirapex for 20 years but is now getting the rebound effects. Curious what new medications have been released.

Take a look at "A good place to start" at the top of this forum. You might also want to look through the forum on augmentation (which is also sometimes called rebound). And if you have any questions not found there, please feel free to post them.
