Monday 7 December

Welcome to -

kathryn - whose symptoms mean it is difficult to travel, difficult to take trips espectially as it is impossible to stay in bed at night.

and to

Mrickschf, who find RLS very uncomfortable and debilitating.

Also:
Everymom - who has had RLS for a very long time, it is getting worse, and there are family members who also suffer.

River Rat - who is sometimes very depressed, very tired, and in a daze. Would love to be able to relax and sleep.

nite sewer - who has had RLS for 10 years and has been to many doctors and tried many medications. Lack of sleep has prevented employment and has fallen asleep during the day without realising it.

Oshkosk - whose RLS has made many nights into a nightmare of sleeplessness and hopes to find how others cope and what medications work for them.

megop - for whom RLS dominates life because it prevents relaxing at a meeting, performance. concert, film...anything that requires a lot of sitting.

wayne gilbert, who at 78 years has had RLS progress rapidly and it is showing early augmentation in my arms.

jdc55, who has had RLS for years but in the past year or so it has become unbearable. She is looking for more information and specifically wants to know if others legs are sore the following day after a bad night with many RLS incidents.

Walker, who has had RLS for a lifetime and finds it makes sitting and watching TV, reading, trying to sleep, and flying a challenge!

Take a look at the 'Just Joined - A Good Place to Start' which is very informative. If you tell us how you deal with your RLS symptoms and previous treatment we will try and help.

Welcome today to

Roe, who has had severe RLS since age 8 years old and is now 44. Roe's RLS starts in the arms and shoulders and then it escalates into severe pain with the tightening of my throat and then travels to the legs. Roe is taking Tramadol for the RLS, cannot make it a day with out it and wantw to figure out if there is anything else out there that will help.

Take a look at "A good place to start" at the top of this forum. You should also take a look through the Prescription Medications forum for discussions of alternatives to Tramadol. Tramadol is the one non-dopamine med that can result in augmentation, so you might also want to review the discussion in the Augmentation forum to see if any of that sounds familiar.

Welcome to

ShunterAlhena, who is worried about having RLS but is not certain about having it.

Take a look at "A great place to start" at the top of this forum. It should provide you with the info that you are looking for. And feel free to post a note asking any remaining questions.

and to

Lindy_Lou_0603, whose RLS is interfering with getting a full nights sleep and is also causing problems by keeping her husband awake. This can then cause problems in our marriage.

Take a look at some of the info at the top of this forum. You might also be able to find something useful in the forum on Relationships. If you don't find what you need, please feel free to post a question so that we can try to help.

Welcome today to

spiderlegs, who suffers from pain but found relief and wants to share.

Please take a look at the forum rules and then post a note telling us your story. We can always hope to learn something new.

and

kwardt, whose husband twitches and kicks all nite and she needs to help him get rest.

Sounds like he has Periodic Leg Movement during Sleep, or PLMS, which frequently occurs along with RLS and is often treated the same way. So take a look at "A Great Place to Start" at the top of this forum and the do a search on PLMS to see if there is anything that helps. And feel free to post a message if you don't find what you need.

Wednesday, 23rd.

Welcome to bbmrdh who has had difficulty finding medications that work well, so the RLS/WED is severely limiting life and work; to add to it, his or her neuro and PCP has prescribed meds that can worsen RLS/WED.

So sorry you're having so much trouble. If you want, start a new post about what you have tried or what they have prescribed.

and to

annharris98, who has had RLS for ten years it's got worse over the years . She has gotten to were she hates to go to bed at night because she knows she won't be able too sleep .

This is a common issue for us. If you don't find the sort of info you need to improve, please post a note telling us about yourself and what might help.

and to

athiest1a, whose had bad RLS for several years how. Recently it has begun to last for hours even when rising in the night or morning and stand up. It has forced athiest1a to relinquish commitments and to resign from a position as leader of a freethinkers group.

Please take a look around, starting with "A good place to start" at the top of this forum. If you don't find something that helps, please post a note with your question(s).
