I'm glad I found this site. I already have two diagnosed sleep disorders, and people tend to look at you funny when you bring up RLS.
I have suffered from RLS/PLMD for years, although until recently I didn't know it. Many a night I've had to walk the house to calm my legs. I also kick and jerk my legs much of the night. And a few times a month I get the worst calf cramps. Cramp is a bad description. It feels more like my hamstring was tied in a knot and then a railroad spike hammered into my calf. I often limp all the next day.
I also have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and narcolepsy. I've been on CPAP for about two years, and just started taking Provigil. Does anyone else have other sleep disorders with their RLS? When I did my sleep study they attributed the leg jerking to my apnea, but the RLS and PLMD symptoms have never abated, even with successful CPAP therapy.

Welcome Whatsleep!
It's nice to meet another cheesehead!
I have "some" snoring but not apnea. I do have RLS/PLMD with Fibromyalgia. So constantly moving then hurting like crazy! Feels like a now win situation doesn't it?
Have you been to a neuro for your RLS/PLMD? If not, I'd recommend getting an appointment. I don't know what part of WI you are in, but you should check out the Mayo Clinic's web site and see if you can get in.
MN and CA seem to be the epicenters of help for RLS.

Are you a native?javascript:emoticon(':P') I live in southeast Wisconsin, so I should have good access to specialists at the Medical College of Wisconsin. I've been seeing a neurologist for a year after a car accident, but I don't think I'd talk to him. My internal med. doc has been great. Usually I start with her. I feel like a hypochondriac, but the irony is my problems turn out to be real!
