July 2016 - New Members

Post by Rustsmith »

Friday, July 1

Welcome to

JulieBee, who has had RLS since she was a child. She thought she was crazy until seeing a commercial years ago and thought "Thats me!!" She was still embarrassed by it and never spoke to a doctor until 5 years ago. She has a great neurologist now but is still struggling to claim a life that never was.

Take a look around to get an idea of the sorts of things that have been discussed, and then feel free to post a note with any questions or comments that you have.

and to

Mrsm2008, who has been on a journey for four years now to help resolve her RLS and sleep issues. Although she has learned a great deal to share, she is also still looking for what works for her.

Take a look around to see if we have anything that is new to you. And then feel free to post telling us about yourself, your journey and how we might be able to help.

Welcome to

jou23xr, who usedTramadol several years ago and is now back on carbedopa-levodopa but using relaxing exercises and sometimes clonazepam to get some relief and some sleep. jou23xr has questions about new products such as the restiffic foot wrap and Revitive device.

and

Madmom02, who has had RLS for 40+ years and it's getting worse. She has it in both legs, both arms, and trunk and it's made her depressed bc she is so tired.

and to

tmm, who can no longer take a nap, and the sleep is "iffy". tmm finds that RLS creates anxiety thinking if you will sleep tonight, if your medication will work tonight, and if life is ever going to be normal again.

Take a look around and feel free to post any questions that you have.

Welcome today to

lcallen50, who is wondering if RLS is the correct diagnosis because lcallen's mom and grandmom both had it, but never in their arms.

RLS can be genetic and when you look around you will find that many of us have it in our arms, legs, torso, neck, etc. Take a look at the diagnostic questions in A Good Place to Start to reinforce what your doctor has told you. And please feel free to post a note with any questions that you have.

Welcome to

LWisely, who has had RLS since childhood. LWisely had luck with requip and then mirapex, but now nothing helps and can only sleeps fewer than 3 hours a night. LWisely is a newlywed and it is already starting to affect the marriage and looking for any advice on similar experiences.

Take a look around and then please post a note with any questions that you have. The one thing to know at this point is that there are always more things to try to bring your RLS under control.

and to

Karazoe, who is desperately trying to find answers, triggers and relief. She cannot sleep, eat, or function as a mother and a wife.

legsandsyndrome, who can't sleep very well most nights and feels tired most of the day. leg's doctor now says there's nothing more he can offer.

and finally

thesleepless1, whose RLS is contributing to daily chronic fatigue and tiredness.

Take a look around to get an idea of what others are doing and then feel free to post a note with any questions or comments that you have.

It's after midnight my time, so on Wednesday, we welcome:

asvkelly who had recently been diagnosed with RLS; asvkelly's mom had RLS/WED only when pregnant.

Please look around and let us know if you have any questions. I was about your age when diagnosed. Please do make sure you let your parents or guardians know about anything you learn here so they can help you with your treatment.
