Here you can share your experiences with substances that are ingested, inhaled, or otherwise consumed for the purpose of relieving RLS, other than prescription medications. For example, herbal remedies, nutritional supplements, diet, kratom, and marijuana (for now) should be discussed here. Tell others of successes, failures, side effects, and any known research on these substances. [Posts on these subjects created prior to 2009 are in the Physical Treatments forum.]

Ten days hardly counts as necroposting! Besides, on a board like this, if someone finds something helpful or interesting enough to reply to it, then it will probably interest someone else as well, no matter what the timeline.

Hmmm..... Too much indica around here, will have to find some somewhere. I know I do feel better on sativa, the head stone makes sense, since most of brain is fired up all day anyways trying to combat a crappy situation. Hell, I do arithmatic in my head sometimes as I pace just to take my mind off the fact I don't want to walk anymore. Next sativa comes my way, I'm buying as much as I can and put it away. MINE!! lol))

Sativa dominant strains that exhibit elevated THCV.
In 2003 the US patent office issued a patent to the US gov't for medical cannabis. The govt had proven that cannabis performed as a neuro protector and as an anti-oxidant.
In 2011 spanish and english researchers tuned the patented study and isolated the cannabinoid THCV as the prime mover.
I have experimented with indica, indica/sativa hybrids, and sativa dominant strains. I can state that sativa dominant strains relieve WED pain within minutes.
What do you think about Sativa for WEDs, even though there's no pain? I have been experimenting off and on for years. Most of the time, I didn't know what I was using -- but now it's legal in Colorado. I tried just Indica and stayed up all night. Now I have a gram of sativa and a humidifier and think I"ll try that. (Oh -- also I did the "hybrid" that's in most edibles...mixed results).
If I could find a way of ingesting without inhaling.... I don't use it myself but I had the exact same results, indica made it go wild, sativa calmed it like beauty, and mixed gave mixed results!
What's a humidifier? Like a vaporizer?

Then I took pure sativa a few nights ago -- up all night. Nuts. I so enjoy weed, love the way it feels at first (happy, happy), but then it gets into my legs and I can't sleep. I just gave the rest of it to my trainer at the gym.

My experience has been different with Indica types vs. Sativa. I prefer the Indicas I've had for RLS. But the main thing is that you should be trying to get the strain with the highest level of CBD in it, versus THC. THC is the element that produces the "high", and it can be very prevalent in EITHER Indica or Sativa strains. CBD's, on the other hand, have pain relieving and other properties, without the high. Ask your dispensary as more and more of them are lab testing their buds for cannibinoid percentages.
You can easily search for dispensaries that do this on Weedmaps.com , if it's legal in your neck of the woods.
All Sativas are not created equally. It takes research, trial and error as it's very individual. I have also read about THCV. It is suppose to have antiepileptic effects as does CBD. However the THCV varieties are more scarce last time I looked.
My rls is stopped with Indica, not Sativa. I've experimented with edibles, and the Sativa drove me crazy all night.. never again. The Indica quickly stops my rls with the vape pen, and the Indica edible keeps it away. I guess I could try another Sativa, but I'm cautious. Right now I'm using the strain Bannana OG in vape pen. I'm in Washington state.
