Kale
Okay, so my wife was in a grocery store checkout line today and this lady next to her had a whole bunch of kale, and not much else, in her grocery cart. She tells my wife that it is the only thing that keeps her restless leg syndrome away. She eats loads of it. I googled kale and RLS together and people actually do use it for that purpose, usually as a juiced drink (yuck), but hey if it works you first heard it here...if it doesn't work look into my text, concentrate, you remember nothing...nothing (don't forget everything) just about the Kale!...so guess what I will be having loads of soon (if I know my wife at all)?

Re: Kale
Green leafy veggies usually have iron in them. My SIL swears her WED (RLS) is under control just by taking one iron tablet a day. Isn't it wonderful that simple things like this can work for many people?

The doc actually does have me take an iron tablet a day with orange juice, says it helps absorption. I take it even after having Iron Infusion.
I agree, it would be wonderful if it were that simple! It sure would be a lot cheaper, just the Lyrica alone is costing me $38 a month and the full cost at pharmacy would be $631, for someone without insurance, every single month!

For some people it is that simple! I'm glad there are people for whom those things work.

It also helps for me (severe refractory) to remember there are others who have moderate or mild symptoms, or easily treated symptoms. I most especially have to remind myself that the dopamine agonists work for a lot of people. And to simply treat with iron - it must be a distinct phenotype of the disease, as opposed to an earlier stage of the same phenotype. Maybe.
