Blood test - gluten sensitivity

Here you can share your experiences with substances that are ingested, inhaled, or otherwise consumed for the purpose of relieving RLS, other than prescription medications. For example, herbal remedies, nutritional supplements, diet, kratom, and marijuana (for now) should be discussed here. Tell others of successes, failures, side effects, and any known research on these substances. [Posts on these subjects created prior to 2009 are in the Physical Treatments forum.]

Blood test - gluten sensitivity

Post by ViewsAskew »

I do not know anything about this - just saw it today in a newsletter about celiac:

Supposedly, this tests for gluten sensitivity, not celiac. So, if you're someone who's had celiac-type reactions but test negative to celiac, this might be a good test to take. No idea how expensive it is.

I think the medical community doesn't recognize any of the tests for sensitivity - none have been validated. No known biomarkers, so diagnosis is a process of elimination based on patient history.eg. http://www.celiaccentral.org/non-celiac ... diagnosis/

That is true - the community tends to be extremely evidence-based (and with good reason).
