RLS occurs more frequently in certain populations, including people with end-stage renal disease, women during pregnancy, and people with iron deficiency. Also, RLS/WED in the elderly and children brings other challenges. Sharing your experiences may be extraordinarily helpful to others.

Is anyone with neuropathy being treated for RLS? Since I am experiencing side effects from the Requip, it occured to me that mine might possibly be related to my diabetes. Curious as to what tests I should ask about in connection to this type of RLS.

Thanks, rowing like crazy see all that hope churning in those waters, Hazel

Diabetes and peripheral neuropathy are both causes for secondary RLS (according to the We Move webite). The information on this page of We Move may be helpful:

I assume you are diabetic from the post? There are several people on the Yahoo site that have talked about neuropathy lately.

I'll check these sites out. My diabetes has been controlled with diet and exercise, so I don't think it is the problem. Talked with a co worker who has severe neuropathy and he told me the neurologist I will be seeing is the one who diagnosed his neuropathy. We had a discussion on tests and such.

If I weren't so close to retirement I'd consider taking a night shift job! *BG*

Thanks Ann.
