I came across this article this evening
https://www.neurologylive.com/clinical- ... 7qPMhBNVz8

Extract:
NeurologyLive reached out to GlaxoSmithKline for comment, and a spokesperson said that "this was a business decision based on low and declining patient demand due to [the] availability of numerous generic ropinirole alternatives. Patients should speak to their physician about an appropriate alternative if they are taking Requip IR or XL. This decision was made independently of any [GlaxoSmithKline] development programs."

It would appear that generic ropinirole will remain available.

PB, I looked at the FDA list of approved generic vendors as well as companies that have applied to manufacture ropinirole. There are currently two companies in India that are approved to supply it and several others whose applications are waiting. It therefore appears that GSK is simply planning to leave the generic Requip market to the others and concentrate on the ER version, which is still under patent protection.
